Where/When did you first hear about Ron Paul

It was either digg or reddit for me, can't remember which. I got interested in libertarianism about a year and a half ago when I discovered podcasting and some great libertarian podcasts.

I can't remember when I first heard about him or started reading his stuff. It might have been during the '88 campaign. But over the years (I am 43) he kept coming back to me, so to speak, in that I kept "stumbling" across things he had written. He's been my ideal politician for many years.

Edited to add: I am just thrilled to even be a prt of these forums and this experience. This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

I came some random youtube video somehow, I couldn't believe what I had heard from the debate. I think it was a couple days after the first debate when I came across it.

The first I had heard of Ron Paul was the first GOP debate. He caught my eye because it didn't seem like he was spinning his words, he seemed to be actually telling the truth (my god whats the world coming to). It all seemed to good to be true so I decided to look into him and now here I am today. He makes sense, and even thought I might not agree with him 100% on every point, I like his consistency and his reasoning. Ron Paul is the hope for our country and we need to get his name out because if he could turn me into one of his minions in a few 30sec snippets, I'm sure he can do wonders if we can just let people know about him.

Vote Ron Paul, he's the only one who can and wants to make a difference.

Digg.com. I saw there where many stories about him and I was curious who this guy was. Checked youtube and his myspace page and saw that he was different that the other GOP candidates. He amazed me.

My husband told me about him after watching Fox News (which is now banned from our house). After that, we became "Paulites" forever!

I picked up Mises Human Action in 2000 which lead me to Lewrockwell's Site. I read a really good article on there written by Ron Paul and was suprised as hell to see that he was a member of Congress. I've been a fan ever since.

I discovered Rep. Paul back in 2003, when (as a person on the fence about the Iraq war) I was trying to see who was against the Iraq war in the GOP. I still ended up supporting the war, and didn't come around to Paul's way of thinking until about late 2005-mid 2006.

I first heard about him about 3 years ago when someone said they were a "Ron Paul Republican". I was like "Who the hell is RP?" I kept hearing his name pop up and certain sites would post his articles about the growing Police State. I was a fan and have been a subscriber of his for about 2 years now. When I found out he was going to run I giggled like a little school girl. (And, I'm a man!) LOL

As a member of the John Birch Society since 91, I have seen Ron Paul as the top scoring congressman in their conservative index for years now. I started reading him when he first appeared on Lew Rockwell.

Browsing the most viewed videos on YouTube I watched a short interview just outside the Texas History Museum. I was gobsmacked. The man exudes honest charm like no other politician I have seen in years. Soon after I reaserched his policies, watched his videos and I´m a fervient supporter now. He has a very uphill struggle but if "we the people" ever ment anything then he has a chance to set things right.

I first saw him in some documentaries on the federal reserve. He impressed me as very knowledgable on the feds and the scam fiat money system. Never in a million years did I expect him to run for president.
I also frequent a silver investment site run by Jason Hommel

http://silverstockreport.com/introduction.html

He vigorously supports a silver backed money supply and one day he posted that Ron Paul was running for pres and posted a link and said we needed to support this guy. I remembered Ron from the DVD's and from that day on I have been excited about the possibilities.
Go Ron!!!

harry browne's weekly radio show, where harry browne opined that the GOP would never let ron paul run for president as a republican and definately would never let him in the debates. so we should keep pulling for the lp.

we can't be right all the time, in harrys case he was right only most of the time. may he rest in peace.

Many years ago after he had left Congress I read a article about him and his views chimed with mine exactly. I was astonished. He ran again for Congress and it was my district. I of course voted for him and continue to.

Met him a few years ago at a fund raiser and he was nice and polite and answered any and all. I had never seen a politician before as accessible as him since I was young lad.

Have to say that when I first read he was planning on running as president I was skeptical as I never ealized the American public would go for him. I am astonished they have.

Has the American people had the same political outlook as me all along?
