Recently I went to several stores in my city and every single toothpaste and mouthwash I could find had flouride in it. I'm new to this so I'm hoping one of you could recommend a non-flouride brand or brands that I can buy off the internet. If you know of a store I'll check to see if we have that store, but it seems that the internet is my only option.

Thank you in advance.

Toms of Maine is a great brand of toothpaste which comes in fluoride and fluoride-free types. I highly recommend it and it is found in most regular supermarkets I have been to, no special store necessary. Toms also has mouth wash, but Listerine does not have fluoride either and it feels more clean when using Listerine over Tom's mouth wash, but Tom's mouth wash is good for after meals.

Toms of Maine tastes different than most toothpaste because it does not have sugar or artificial sweeteners. I think it tastes much better than regular toothpaste, it is more mild whereas most regular toothpaste can have a comparatively overpowering flavor.

Here is their website: http://www.tomsofmaine.com/home

I make my own. Baking soda, sea salt, coconut oil, peppermint oil.

Baking soda whitens and coconut oil is a natural anti bacteria agent.

Toms of Maine was bought out by Colgate-Palmolive Co. Not so sure I would trust them anymore.

As long as Toms still has its same quality ingredients, no fluoride, no animal ingredients... I'm going to stick with Toms, because I like it and it is safe for me to use.

If those things change, there are some alternatives such as ayurvedic pastes, such as these two:

Neem toothpaste: http://www.krishnaculture.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KC&Product_Code=NTP2&Category_Code=

Meshwak toothpaste: http://www.krishnaculture.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KC&Product_Code=MTP&Category_Code=

I've used the Neem toothpaste, and I liked it. I would use it again.

Edit: Thanks for that info though donnay... I didn't know that, good to know. I'll keep reading their ingredients list to make sure it continues to be a product I'm willing to use.

"Sea Fresh" by Jason.

Great (organic) ingredients and has a nice spearmint taste, i find it a local health market or Vitamin Shoppe.

I recently started using Tom's. the Fennel flavor is interesting for a toothpaste, reminds me of black licorice a bit. I haven;t tried the mint.

I usually get the peppermint Tom's, but I really like the flavor of the fennel too. Those are the only flavors I have seen in fluoride-free. Fennel is also ayurvedic, fennel seeds can be chewed after a meal to freshen your breath, clean your teeth a little bit, and it helps with digestion too!

Does non-fluoride mouthwash/toothpaste help with canker sores/mouth ulcers? I'm not sure if anyone on this forum is familiar with canker sores, but I have a family history and I have been getting them since I was real young.

They are the absolute worst, but anyway I've heard fluoride toothpaste can be a trigger to mouth ulcers. This would be useful if non-fluoride toothpaste/mouthwash helps.
