Man, you're really getting out there. As much as it can be useful as a coping mechanism, these factions don't operate in alignment with one another. They fight like dogs amongst themselves for power. You are, of course, correct. In 2020 my best friend at the time, a black woman and Spellman graduate, agreed with me initially that Kamala Harris was a horrible candidate based on her record of what she did to black people and that Trump had done more for black people than the community was willing to admit. (She brought that up, not me). Then, once Kamala got the VP nod and the black sororities got behind her, this same friend was like "Don't you want to be part of history and support the first black woman VP candidate?" I was like "If I felt that way wouldn't I have supporter her when she was running for president?" Prior to Biden dropping out, one of my sons asked my ex wife is she supported Kamala or Gavin Newsome replacing Joe Biden and she said "Neither one." But I bet she would vote for a Harris / Newsome ticket if it came to that. Of course Republicans don't help themselves with black voters. Trending right now from the RNC is video of praise from one of the RNC speakers of a college frat jerk making "gorilla noises" directed at a black woman who was on campus in support of the Palestinians. Like....why?

While I have no doubt that the ominous "they" have many things planned, the reality is that nearly assassinating your opponent is how you guarantee that he will get elected. It doesn't matter who pulled the trigger, or why. An assassination-attempt like that is a "can't miss" situation. You have to hit the target because failing to hit the target guarantees that he will win. While I grant that the much-feared "Deep State" has "six ways from Sunday" (to quote Chucky Schumer) of manipulating the public, the reality is that they have flubbed the ball for real this time. COVID was already such a PR disaster for them that they could barely make the Trump-Biden race look like even odds, even with all their statistical manipulation tricks. But nearly assassinating Trump is the best gift you could possibly give him. The shooter wrapped the Oval Office in Christmas paper, tied it with a bow and handed it to Trump. That's why the D's are Yosemite Sam stomping-mad at Cheatle. Her job was to either make sure nothing like this could happen at all, or make sure Trump ended up on a cooling board. What actually happened is the worst-case scenario for them.

Even with all their dirty-tricks, I think the best the Dems can hope for in 2024 is a Reagan-scale landslide. The only ones left standing right now are the absolute DC Beltway insiders, everybody else has seen the writing on the wall and jumped ship. The only ones left are the ones who can't leave because the only reason they don't go straight to Federal prison is because they have some powerful position.

correct, GOP is always playing from behind , now they are up 1 , easily within margin of error and immediate gain of 2 from blacks and minorities ( already have white women). Can they get it done without blowing a lead ? Remains to be seen.

I think that putting a woman at the top of the ticket is liable to result in losing more votes than it gains. So far, men are 59-0 in winning US presidential elections.

Biden health concerns persist as he makes first appearance after ending campaign

President Joe Biden was seen boarding Air Force One in Delaware on Tuesday, marking the first time he has been seen in public since being diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 17.

The president is headed to Washington, D.C., where he is scheduled to make a speech to the American public on Wednesday night.

Of course, given the way Biden shuffles, it might just be Disney animatronics (didn't Robin Williams simulate that in a routine on Ronald Reagan?)

As for Kamala, I'm pretty sure this is another head fake. If the party can control public perception enough to save the down-ballot races, they may let her stay the nominee. But if I'm right, that's going to fall apart after a few public appearances and maybe an interview or two, and then they'll open the convention to the Draft Michelle movement (or maybe even Hillary).

What surprises me is that the name Susan Rice never comes up in these scenarios. Woman of color (so she's not going to lose the Black or Female vote). She's one month younger than Kamela. And she's got a resume that would probably lure a hefty chunk of the never-Trump neocons away from the GOP. That the Democrats aren't even mentioning her tells me they don't think they've got a chance this election cycle.
