Where can Iowans find out about the bus rides to Ames ?

Buses are leaving from Wal Mart Parking Lots. If you have a ticket the campaign will be calling you very soon to let you know where and when to catch the bus.

I think we need to let people in Iowa know more about this . . .
Nearest Wal-Mart to our clan of supporters (if some can get off work on the Saturday Aug. 13)
is in Jefferson County 20 miles away (Fairfield - the county RP won in the January 2008 caucus btw) - and it might be an early bus (it is not a 24-hour Wal-Mart).

My point is that without that NY Times article I wouldnt have known and we need to get that info out -
in general, folks in SE Iowa may not know about this ride opportunity imho.

The Iowa Campaign already started sending out emails and calling every single person that has a ticket to the straw poll.

But the problem is that people won't even be buying the ticket if they don't first know about the potential bus ride possibility.

I have a friend in Iowa who got a call from the campaign today letting him know where to catch the bus. He says they are meeting all across the state at Wal Mart Parking lots

I'm sure its need-to-know info., but does anyone know yet about how many tickets they have sold to Ron Paul supporters yet i.e. how many votes we have in the bag?

At this moment I have no clue what we are looking at and as far as I know we could come in 1st or 5th.

Well, just let us know if there will be a bus from SE Iowa - and where - and time . . .
if you want a few more Iowa registered voters to show up at Ames from the Jefferson County and surrounds area.

Point is . . . the bus availability info is NOT getting out.
And so some will instead just be staying at home or work on Saturday 08.13 by not having that desired bus info beforehand.

There is a bus coming from every county. Which particular county do you need information on? Also, have you reserved your Straw Poll ticket yet?

I called the campaign office, they say there will be a bus leaving from Fairfield at the walmart parking lot at 7:45. They say Everyone will be getting an email and phone call if they have bought a ticket. I

I'm sure the people that need to know about the buses will know about them.

Why so sure of that ? Unfortunately it is not really the case . . . many do not know of the RP buses plan for Ames -
maybe partly because the RP campaign had NO buses for the 2007 Ames Straw Poll.

Sincere thanks for the Fairfield info . . . at least they have a Wal-Mart.
And at least I can work on getting voters up there now. Thanks again.

As for every county . . . anything from neighboring Van Buren County ?
(RP finished second in '08 caucus here, a very rural but tourism/fishing/camping type of county)

We're not going to be in 3rd or 2nd, we're going to be in 1st. Got that? I hope you guys did.

Now is the push time . . .
this is Super Bowl week !

We need to get everyone to know about all this.
Every candidate only gets a single digit percent of their total support in the state to Ames for a Saturday vote. Crunch time.
