When will the Collapse happen?

I've heard from people like Schiff, Paul, Celente, Faber, Rogers, and others that the collapse will happen. The only thing is the timeline. I understand its hard to predict when the bust will happen, but they all have different timelines(Celente says 2012, Schiff says from 2011-2016) If you believe so, when and why do you think it will happen?

How long is a piece of string? My opinion is that the only reason we are fine right now is because of all the money the government has printed, this had delayed the de-leveraging of the debt which is supposed to happen. The only consequence of the printing money is inflation. So rather than saying when is the collapse going to happen? You should ask when is inflation going to happen. Once inflation starts to happen, the government has only one choice. That is to withdraw the credit programs which would cause a collapse, or just let the inflation happen. Either way we go into a depression.

To paraphrase Garet Garrett: There are those who still think they are holding the pass against a collapse that may be coming up the road. But they are gazing in the wrong direction. The collapse is behind them. It went by in the name of "Progress", singing songs to freedom.
;)

But take devil21's advice and check back tomorrow. :)

Marc Faber said 5-10yrs. a year or so ago. So, I'd say it will for sure happen within 5yrs. I think it will happen by 2012 or sooner...

Why check back tomorrow? Do you know something sinister?;)

Id say whenever the amount of evidence (recognized by the general public) against the gov`t is greater than the amount of lies covering them up, which could be in a day or a year or 10 years. I could give alot of examples of gov`t fraud but I`m more than sure that you all know atleast a couple.

when welfare runs out. lol...

they're really prolonging this situation... if you woulda asked me 3 years ago i would have said 12-18 months... now. honestly. it could be anytime. although with how they're handling it- i'd say it will be glaringly apparent to the masses prolly 2012... but hey, they'll have the renovated pentagon done by then right? lol.. it could be prolonged even longer... <shakes head> it's gonna be nasty... this inflation they're creating...

The only real significant recent collapse I've seen is in South Africa, as it's heading for 3rd world status fast.

If we amass a big enough low IQ population and there's a revolution with a subsequent redistribution of wealth and power, I could see a collapse to 2nd world status, which would be followed by a brain drain to whatever nation has somehow held things together.

If we amass a big enough low IQ population...

You dont think its big enough yet, when is the last time you talked with someone (besides close friends and relatives) who has actually had something smart or relevant to say and known what they were talking about?

It's funny how brainwashed people get upset when you speak the truth.

The watershed event that will trigger the sharp downward spiral will be a treasury auction where no one shows up and the buyer of last resort the Federal Reserve prints the notes to purchase all the Treasuries.

At that time take your gold and go to Canada and don't look back at the carnage behind you.

Check back tomorrow.

Oh come on... no collapse could ever happen on a Saturday.
Seems like the markets would have to be open when it happens.

So days when the markets are closed, would seem pretty safe.
Try tomorrow evening when the markets open again. (Sunday)

Could you care to elaborate, since I am looking to go on a long trip to south africa.
South Africa has one of the highest murder and rape ratios in the world with a borderline communist government that's been busy 'spreading the wealth around' and censoring the opposition for the past 15 years, with as little success as the USA.

Excellent post, sir! Welcome! :)

when it finally comes it will be FAST like a ton of bricks.

if you have to have a clue then I think you could keep your eye on moves by the biggest players out there (if figures that they are gonna do something to try to cover their butts and capitalize on the largest transfer of wealth ever known in the history of the world).
