When will Iowa caucus results be announced?

(see title) if caucus voting takes place on Jan 3, will results be available in the evening or will it take a day or two for the votes to be processed?

The caucus actually starts in the evening, and the results won't be official til probably the 4th.

Caucus is in the evening; there will be entrance polls but I wouldn't expect any official results until late at night or the next morning.

Results will start getting out around 9 or 10pm eastern time. Remember back in '04, when Gephardt actually dropped out of the race by about midnight on the night of the caucuses? Fred Thompson and Bill Richardson are the two most likely to drop out the night of the caucus, so don't be surprised if either of those two are out by midnight.
