We meant, a LOT more....

Did anyone else get this email from the campaign on Friday?

The level of support has been so unbelievable that my campaign has raised $1,235,209 in this End of Quarter Push.

In fact, the money just poured in online and in the mail over the last 72 hours, faster than we could count it. This has pushed us far beyond the $5 million we first quoted.

The enthusiasm this campaign is now generating is amazing, especially among first-time donors and new Ron Paul supporters.

And now, $8 million raised for this quarter is within reach!

I'm guessing they are including the one million from the Congressional campaign that was transferred in early July, but still.... great job everyone!

Wow! If we hit 8 million, that's a fantastic number. It might bring us ahead of Perry and would make us the only candidate that raised money in the second quarter.

And this coupled with a CBS article that just came up....

With just one more day for fundraising in the third quarter, reports say Michele Bachmann is running so low on funding that she might not make it to the Iowa caucuses.

Bachmann's fundraising situation is "dire," one anonymous source told Politico, while another said her fundraising earnings for the third quarter would fall short of the combined $4 million she brought in during the prior three month period.

A computer vendor has even threatened to shut off the power at the Bachmann campaign offices for unpaid bills, the New York Post reported, ]citing an unnamed source.

"She does not like to ask for money. She should have been focusing on big donors about three months ago," a source told the Post. "She's only cultivated low dollar donors with direct mailings and that's hurt her."

The disclosures come as Bachmann's poll numbers continue to plummet.

She needs to endorse Ron. But there's only 3-5% of her supporters left.

Bachmann will endorse Romney. No way she could endorse Perry after the Gardasil attack. Even though Ron is definitely who she should endorse, I expect the establishment will get to her and a deal for some "future consideration" will be made.

if there was anyone in the current field i could see endorsing Ron it would be Bachmann.

No politician counting on a continued political career will endorse Ron Paul -- they all want to curry favor with the Establishment. Maybe someone like Gingrich, whose political career is basically over, might, once he sees that Ron Paul is on the right side of history.

I think she's hoping for VP still, if Romney gets it. I don't think it would happen, but I think she thinks it might.

Gingrich wants to be a power broker but damaged himself, he is rebuilding that, and doing it well, but unless he gets an easy poll bump and reason to start really running again, I think he is not attacking other candidates because he still wants to sell books to their bases.

Ron hasn't attacked her that I can recall. And they both attacked Perry. There are likely a decent number of people who like Bachmann, but worry about things like electability. If she did endorse Ron, I would imagine that would effect more than 5%. It wouldn't necessarily change minds, but would have some positive effect.

We're going to want to make the case that we're the teaest of the tea party. bachmann's endorse helps to make that case.

the only reason that might not be true for bachmann, is she owes the fact that she was reelected in 2008 to Dr. Paul endorsing her, otherwise she very well could have lost.

Michelle Bachmann cant endorse Perry because of the vaccine business and she is opposed to Romney. Her real choices are Ron or Cain. She already practically praised Ron in the past it would be amazing to see both wings of the Tea Party come together under Ron. My money is that she hops on the Cain bandwagon

Here's my guess of what the Q3 numbers will be.

BOSTON -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will announce having raised between $11 million and $13 million at the end of this current fundraising quarter, The Boston Globe reported Thursday, citing a source familiar with the campaign's finances.

Romney raised $18 million during the last quarter, which spanned from April to June. The current quarter ends Sept. 30 with candidates having to report their numbers to the Federal Election Commission by Oct. 15.

Romney - $12 million dollars raised for Q3

All eyes are on Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who only entered the race Aug. 13, but has amassed a large network of wealthy donors from his long tenure as chief executive of the Lone Star State and his previous stint as chairman of the Republican Governor's Association.

Romney's camp has acknowledged that Perry will probably report more money than its candidate this quarter.

Perry raised over $20 million in just three days after declaring himself a candidate, The Dallas Morning News reported earlier this week. That figure, however, reportedly includes some commitments from big donors to raise funds by the start of the primary season and may not show up in Perry's official third quarter tally.

Asked recently if Perry will raise $10 million this quarter, his chief political strategist Dave Carney told Politico, "I hope so," adding, "If every event reaches its goal we'll be over $10 million." Other Perry backers have suggested that his total could reach as high as $15 million.

Perry is handicapped in New York in a way Romney and others aren’t - SEC rules strictly curtail brokers involved in municipal bond deals from giving to certain elected officials, meaning his Wall Street haul has been limited.

In the meantime, they’ve essentially been relying on the kindness of strangers in the tri-state area, getting help from a string of bundlers who were either supporters of Mike Huckabee who never went with another candidate, some Jewish donors who had remained uncommitted, and other New York influentials.

That said, Perry’s still struggling to break through in New York, according to multiple sources. Two sources familiar with the numbers said his five events where fundraising took place in New York over two days last week didn’t clear much more than $500,000, a fairly low bar given that they were mostly high-dollar affairs.

Another unaligned New York raiser said Perry ought to be able to clear the $10 million hurdle easily given his advantages.

“With all that oil and gas money, if he can’t clear $10 million in his first quarter as the sitting governor of Texas, there’s a problem,” the raiser said.

Perry - $10.5 million dollars raised in Q3.

Ron Paul - $8 million dollars raised in Q3.

Michelle Bachmann - $2.5 million dollars raised in Q3.

Already running a shoestring campaign, Santorum told POLITICO last week that he’d raise “less than a million” this quarter.
