When is the Secret Service going to start protecting Ron Paul due to crowd size??

Is there any rule that wouldn't allow a private security team to work along with the secret service? (where their function would likely act more as double checking the security)

The problem is most people on this forum are opposed to "working for the gov't" -- it has come up several times in heated debate.

I work for the gov't because they pay 50% more, and someone else would take the job if I didn't.

Conflict of interest. One of the problems is that when your livelihood depends on government, you are quite a bit less effective (and less motivated) to campaign against it.

Ron Paul will be the first President to not have Secret Service. This question was posed in an email maybe in 08 that was replied to by Carol Paul. They have a private security company in mind that they feel is better service for better price. They don't want taxpayer funded protection. She also wrote that Rand had suggested they take the secret service money and then use it to buy gold, then sell the gold and return the money to the treasury having made a profit.

Thought Ron handled the OWS 'Mike Checks' very well at campaign events, and even the misguided liberals can't deny Paul's message for liberty and freedom for all.

The other candidates need security because they are the same old aristocrats serving themselves and their crony partners at the citizen's expense.
