When is the next debate?

I seriously doubt there will be further debates. Or if there are, they will not include Dr. Paul.

I feel like at this point the blackout would be too obvious if they didn't invite Paul... they really do have to. A lot of people will go "hey, where's that skinny old white guy at? He was kinda funny last time... erm, are they ignoring him?"

Really, it does seem like they wouldn't be able to do that... but then again....

MCCain-Huckabee...the worst possible ticket imaginable. :) From the standpoint of platform and views.

Could get the northeast and south together though. :(

No it's not, it's not liberal at all. The Media is neither conservative nor liberal and the only people that accuse 'it' of being either are just silly.

The Media doesn't get to the heart of ANY MATTERS AT ALL, what-so-ever. The Media is selling us a series of personalized dramatic drivel disconnected from the big picture day in and day out... this means that it's literally NOTHING, and it just serves to reflect back on us whatever the socially acceptable norms happen to be.

The Media is FICTION.

ding ding ding. we have a winnar!

That is the most hilarious post. :)

Media not liberal. ROTF-LOL :D:D:D:

It's not, and frankly - you and everyone that says it is are idiots. Liberals claim it is "conservative" and conservatives claim it's "liberal."

Fox-news is the only one with a SERIOUS slant towards mainstream republican elitist ideology, but I still wouldn't characterize that as anything more than elitist.

The slant I see is simply towards reporting whatever the hell the "officials" are saying. It's slanted towards entertainment...

MEDIA BIAS:

1) Personalization
2) Dramatization
3) Fragmentation

That's pretty much it as far as I can tell, from my personal view of the media. It's all about having some kind of narrative that is driven by personalizing an issue, making it dramatic, and not connecting it with the whole of reality.

That's our media, and THAT is the issue. When you accuse it of being "liberal" bias or "conservative" bias you're not helping to solve the problem at all. In fact, you're playing into the narrative and perpetuating the problem.

So, yes, you're an idiot for that.

guys, ron already accepted his invitation! i think he was the first one to accept it.

i dont think Greater Houston Partnership is going to cancel their summit/debate just 'cos romney dropped out.

this debate is not controlled by the media, it is the Greater Houston Partnership's debate.

Absolutely. The media only has two motives: 1) make money 2) obey the dictates of the owners, who are in the same social circles of the power elites. So, they'll sell you anything that you want to buy, and they'll especially push anything that helps their friends in Washington, and ignore that which hurts them.

It has nothing to do with liberal/conservative (which no longer has a useful meaning, anyway - it used to be about size of government, not gay marriage), and it has nothing to do with parties. Both parties are run by the same group. Don't let yourself be bitten by the Red vs Blue mentality. It's not about Red or Blue, it's about Power. It's always about Power.

Some of my views of the MSM

(Yeah I know I already posted this pic, but I thought this would be another appropriate place to bash the media)
(I love C&H btw)

So let Ron and Huckabee debate, with McCain absent. Let's raise money for it, if MSNBC won't do it. Or, have it on C-SPAN or possibly CNN.

There are two possibilities:

MSNBC cancels the debate.

McCain cancells his attendance and then MSNBC cancels the debate.

In that case, Ron will probably be the only one who shows up.

Also it's open to all the candiates, republican and democrat. Both parties will be there. It won't be canceled.

Still, my guess is they'll focus mostly on the main candidates... mccain, clinton, obama and Huck/Paul will be marginalized.

I don't think they can just cancel it because of Obama and Hillary also being in the debate.

If they cancel it maybe huck and paul could set up a real debate somewhere, I don't know if mc100 years would come or not, if he knows he has to actually let others talk. Hopefully they don't cancel it, but if they don't they'll probably just let mcwar talk for an hour and a half or something out the the republicans. If the dems come hopefully Ron will get more backing on his stance on the war, although i don't know how seriously they oppose it or if they just want votes. Hillary will probably say whatever gets votes about the war, not sure about Obama.

yeah, that's a good point. this isn't a REPBULICAN debate. it's a presidential debate. so this whole "they'll make it mccain vs huckabee" is you guys not realizing they will all be on the stage together. so ron could easily still be ignored since obama and clinton will be there. but we will also get the chance to possibly hear ron attack one of them ........

If Obama and Hillary are there, McCain WILL be there. If not, he would be conceding defeat before he's even nominated.
