Many of those who you might wish to be behind bars are guilty of crimes that cannot be punished in any prison. And you have never seen the faces of the worst-of-the-worst on TV, ever. So, the real social problem we are dealing with is of a different kind than simply "throw 'em in jail!" For the DEEP State, when you start arresting people, you're just stepping on tripwires. They hear the alarm, pack up their equipment, relocate, and set up base all over again. The US Federal government has been root-kitted.

We don't put the people who lose the election in prison so that when we have elections there is a peaceful transfer of power because people aren't afraid of being put in prison if they lose an election.

That's the corrupt bargain we have made for generations.

It's just not as bad as living under a Monarchy so we just try to tolerate a couple years of a government with bad people in it and have elections to change it when we don't like what they are doing.
