For a quite a while, I've been meaning to start a thread for interesting items about animals (mostly due to videos I occasionally encounter on Twitter and the like), but I never got around to it.

Yesterday, I watched the video below, and knew I had to post it. So I decided to just go ahead and do the "two birds" thing.

Anyway, if you come across anything animal-related (videos, pictures, articles, etc.) that you think might be interesting to others, feel free to post it here. Over the next few days, I'll be adding some items I've previously bookmarked, for when I finally got around to starting this thread.

Also, R.I.P. Eko the Malayan tiger :sorrow::mad:

No matter how big they are, cats tend to be spooked pretty easily. First thing to try is a cucumber.

No cucumber? A couple of quick shots into the ground next to the tiger might work.

I've seen some cat/cucumber videos before. I wonder what's up with that.

They must be reacting to what they think is a predator of some kind (a snake, maybe?).

I wish there had been a water hose handy. It seems to have worked pretty well in that second case.

First off, holyyyyy moly.

Secondly, what a professional that zookeeper is. She kept calm the whole time. She even rolled with the croc to save her arm from being snapped in half. Seriously well done.

Lastly, to all the men reading this, be like that guy who jumped in the friggin death pit to wrestle a croc and save that lady. If you think it was only her arm at stake you're wrong. That croc could have torn her arm off, chomped onto her, rolled her and drowned her in that water easily. If you don't think so, allow me to suggest a crocodile-attack YouTube rabbithole. She could have EASILY been killed by that beast in a multitude of ways.

But Citizen Crocodile Dundee there said nope, no sir, not today. Imma wrestle this croc and save this lady, even if I get seriously injured in the process.

What a boss. Dude must walk around everywhere pushing one of these in front of him.

Thank you for being a man, sir. 🫡
