5th. Young voters don't go to the caucuses and old voters aren't interested in Dr. Paul in the numbers we need, so I think the current polls may actually be overestimating Dr. Paul's support in the state (relative to what he will get in the caucus). Looks like good weather (relative to the average January Iowa day) on caucus day which is bad for us.

there is no way lower than 3rd........they are against illegals and the mexacanica highway big time.....

Anywhere from 3rd to 6th is possible; any guesses are nothing more than just that: guesses.

You just vote on slips of paper in the Iowa caucuses. You write the candidates name on a slip of paper and put it in a hat. Then, the votes are counted at the precinct with one person supporting each candidate observing the vote count. Then, the precinct totals are called in to Des Moines. Therefore, very little chance of fraud (at least at the precinct level).

I'm thinking no higher than second, no lower than fourth. So I picked 3rd. Young voters MIGHT show up for this. There has been very little reason for them to in the past. This campaign, and election year gives them a whole hell of a lot of reason to show up.

5th

I could be completely off base as I am in another state. I am going off the feel I get from talking to the average person here. Many love Ron's domestic policy but really do not like his foreign policy. They also tend to go along with the prevailing view on talk radio which is as I have written.

My bet is 3rd. I have faith that people my age will get off of their asses and do something. We haven't in the past not because we're lazy, but because we've been able to see through the corrupt system. We've known that the system is broken for a long time and have refused to pick the lesser of two evils. We know the dirty little secret that both parties are the full of the same load of crap.

But now that we have something to stand for, someone we can rally to I think we will vote in record numbers.

Oliver wanted to know if we know the results the same day. Yes, I think the goal is 9:30 Central time but it may be a little later.

That day, I think.

When do we get the results about January third??? Same day?

If I recall correctly, the TV networks usually make a prediction long before the caucuses are over, by polling people on the way in. It's not entirely reliable, but it can be if someone has a big lead.

Optimistically 4th, but maybe 5th.

I do not think a lot of Iowan folks do their own research. Rather they seem to be relying on these debates, visits, etc. One of the news people was showing pictures of candidates on the street and hardly anyone could identify the candidates except H. C.

One older lady thought Ron Paul was G. Dubya Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she said he looked like him.

I hold little hope for Iowa.
