Whats your favorite beer?

If you want to go with the hard stuff, look no further...

LOL! Never paid attention to the dog. Such a cute little (or big?) guy.

So many beers, so little time... problem is how I can find these local brews to try in my area... :(

I used to go to a little hole in the wall bar in New Haven that served pitchers of Woodchuck. Bad. Bad. Bad. I will never touch the stuff again. Or Newcastle for that matter.

Sounds like someone drank too much of the woodchuck kool-aid a few too many times! The only place I know that serves it by the pitcher are the college bars near Tulane and Loyola.

I live about an hour from the Dogfish Head brewery. It's everywhere.

Speaking of which, I just picked up a 6-pack of Pamlico Amber Ale (brewery is in Dover, DE). Has anyone else had this? It's really different.

Um, yeah. Probably a bit too much. I guess you could call it a college bar (steps from Yale) but it's more of a townie place-- at least when I lived there.

Doing it's best to prevent Prohibition from returning, Rudy's has a number of foreign and domestic beers on tap, a full bar and quite the selection of bottled beers. A lunch time through late night food menu gives you many styles of burgers, wings, salads and Ct's best frites w/ a choice of 25 sauces! The hundreds of photographs on the walls offer something to look at besides the TV's or the customers. The reknowned juke box can dish out Merle Haggard, Black Flag, The Kinks, Modest Mouse, Judas Priest and Abba all in the span of 15 minutes. A pool table, pinball machine, outdoor patio section, put-your-feet-up-and-relax attitude, live original music on the weekends and a wide mix of customers are all the reasons needed for a night (or day) of good times for the whole family. Okay almost the whole family !

I love Guinness, too. However I do not like it from bottles at ALL. The cans are pretty good but there's nothing like Guinness from the tap and I don't get around much anymore.

Guiness is a bit, um, chewy for me. Ever try a 'black and tan'? You buy a pitcher of American pisswater pilsner, get a volunteer or two to drink enough to make some room in it, and you pour a stout like Guiness right down the middle. Stouts are so stout that one of them will turn the entire pitcher of pilsner into something very much like a nice bock.
