You probably want to read the parts actually enforced , Articles 43 to 55 or so . That is where the state claims everything . All industries , minerals , foreign trade , utilities , banking , power generation , dams , water , irrigation for agriculture , radio , tv , telegraph , roads , harbors , post office , aviation , shipping and railroads . I do not make it up , they do . I am more generous .

The whole point of my post is that democracy and republic is not mutually exclusive to each other. A republic and exist inside a democracy and in fact this is mainly how it exists. This is why the OP calling CSPAN to complain about the country not being a democracy wouldn't go down so well.

I do not think the US is a democracy or a republic . Like many other places about half the people are communist and here about half the people do not vote . Only half the country pays more tax than it receives while only 6 in ten work . So it is a unique situation where 2 or 3 in ten keep it afloat. Most representatives do not vote based on anything more than what lobbyists tell them they need . This is why only a few stand out . Otherwise many would stand out in different areas because they would be representing taxpayers in that specific district . Other countries often have greater distinction of differences than here although many of them are just different flavors of more socialism .

Same system of everything state-owned and zero rights is in effect here also. That's why a judge can seize everything we possess with a bang of the gavel. We hold equitable title to all of "our" property (aka a usage license), not legal ownership. In that light, calling it something does not make it that.
