Regardless of what the media may say, he is gaining a LOT of traction here in SC. Personally I've watched him in the debates and he just sounds like a moron to me.... its like listening to a broken air conditioner trying to run. rrrrrrrrrrr*Rrr*RR.... He says all these nonsense phrases that mean nothing but people love it-just like Obama and Huckabee do. I never really took the time to dig much on him-he's no Ron Paul-thats good enough for me, but what specifically can i use to educate people about him here in SC? Immigration is BIG here, btw.

I'm like you... don't know much about it. But I hear he has little experience.

That's what they mentioned on a local radio show the other day. That anytime a Ron Paul supporter approaches a Thompson guy they say that he is a member of the CFR-most people have no idea what that means. I know the deal there myself, but is there a way to explain how that applies to immigration in a really quick way without sounding to conspiratorial?

As Nixon was once quoted as saying about Fred: "Nice guy but dumb as hell". Fred is NO friend of the American people and rumor here in TN is that the only reason he's even running is because his trophy wife wants to be first lady!! He's a CFR member is good standing, is soft on the 2nd Amendment and has been a Washington insider for far too long already.

He is not a fiscal conservative if he wants to support the continuation of the Iraq war. It has already costed $800 billion, was a military blunder, and is taking the nation down into the dumpster.

Thompson=Bush

That's what's wrong. He is a big government conservative. He wants a bigger military. He supports our foreign policy. Those two are enough for me not to like him.

All of this is good stuff, but can anyone point to specific votes, bills. etc. Its just that our guy suffers a lot from hearsay. So i would like to give them the respect i expect for Ron Paul-proof.

Hey, he talks a good line and has played some good roles in movies and on TV, so he must be ok to be President, right?

Truth is I probably would have been a Thompson supporter once upon a time. I just don't live in that make-believe world anymore.

He's the very anti Ron Paul.

He is a lobbyist. Most of his time in congress was spent with special interest.
He is a war monger and an uneducated one at that.
He has no clue how to fix our economy other than false rhetoric.
He has no real work ethic.

He's not that bad of a guy. Check him out at his forum. www.fredthompsonforum.com

Fred's my second favorite, too.

IMO, you should try to convince them on the Economy, that's Paul's defining issue.

If we don't stop printing money, we will not stop inflation, and we will never get out of debt.

This is a link to a pamphlet that my dad gave me, someone gave it to him in the 80s. It's called "Billions for the Bankers, Debts for the People."

It was written by a pastor, and it makes a few points as to why Usury was considered evil in the bible, and then explains the Federal Reserve system.

I personally think every citizen that knows anything about how the Federal Reserve operates is a Ron Paul supporter. IMO, the best way to convert people to Dr. Paul is to get them to understand the seriousness of the Federal Reserve's self-destructive reality.

But, if you want to talk about Immigration with them, I did a quick search, here are some bad scores for Fred on Immigration, should give you a few talking points....

Here's a good one: People only really like him because they've seen him on television. Ask any everyday Fred supporter what he has actually done as a politician. Look for glazed over eyes and a slack jaw. Then remind them that they probably only like him because of his acting career. At that point guide them to Ron Paul as a statesman and what he actually has done in congress.

he just never struck me as a person of interest. honestly the way he waited to enter the race. For that reason alone i lost respect for the guy. So i didn't pay attention-aside from the debates. With everyone else i can get what they are all about. I have no idea what he is about. he either rambles on endlessly or complains about everybody else.

I just know in my gut i don't like the guy.... i was just reading up on him at Wikipedia- i read this quote from him when he was pushing the Iraq war:

"When people ask what has Saddam done to us, I ask, what had the 9/11 hijackers done to us -- before 9/11."

yeah, definitely not a Ron Paul.

He was a D.C. insider lobbyist for 20 years. Just Google Fred Thompson Lobbyist and there is a long laundry list to use for making him seem less palatable to the good voters of S.C.

FT sways with the money.

1. He represented a British company that was being sued for asbestoes health problems from workers here in USA that had come down with lung disease. He was trying to get them to settle for a lot less.

2. He represented the ousted ex hatian president that tortured people by throwing tires around thier necks lighting them with gasoline.

3. His Gun record is not perfect like Ron Pauls,,,, he has a 60/40 progun to antigun vote in the senate. Strict 2nd amendment defenders wont go for that he compromises with the antigun lobby.

4. Last is his firm took the case with the planners of the libyan terrorists that were accused of blowing up Pan Am 103. He is not directly involved but was paid for 4 hours of work on the case as a consultant when other firms wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole because familys of the victims. For the clueless people that get thier news from Faux or CNN just tell them Fred made money off Libyan terrorists. Let them research it, then they will find out about the other things as well.
