So it seems like there are 3 or 4 major leanings...
1) Strengthening End the Fed protests.
- Possible problems: Fed offices not in every state or town. This is an on going theme at all rallies. The End the Fed styled protests need to happen at the offices of the Federal Reserve. These need to be educational type protests because there is no action that can occur at the private property of these buildings. Educate the people and focus on the outrage and exposing secrecy. DO NOT try and get media attention or expect to challenge the laws here.
2) "We need some HR 1207 parties staged in front of every Congressman's local office. People should show up with candles, lanterns and flashlights. Let's bring some sunshine on the Fed. Is July 12 too late?"
-This is connected to End The Fed, but would solve the problem of the scarcity of the offices. Kinda like bringing the End The Fed protests to the doors of our congressmen. HR1207 needs to get more media attention. We also need to provide HR 1207 education at the End the Fed style protests. HR1207 style protest are actionable. This is a legal issue that needs to be challenged at the doors of Congress. Those offices are in the public domain therefor we the people are responsible for what occurs on that property. The Beauty of this type of protest is that it will bring exposure and education at the congressional level. This will also show commitment of the people and also highlight on a local level the impact of Washington and the impact we the people have on DC.
3) Fusion Center protests.
-I like this one, but we are going to have to get people that are not cowards. Blocking the doors peacefully may get some people arrested... Maybe we could combine this with the protests in front of the congressional offices for a Mega rally? We could have VFW there, ETF, Libs, Reps, everyone thats mad about being profiled...This style protest strikes at the heart of the government control apparatus. This is a direct legal challenge and a show of force. It cannot be denied that people WILL be arrested. We need lawyers lined up to sue and challenge the Fusion Center laws, as well as defend the protesters. We need to create standing for innocent people to have their names searched in these databases to find out what kind of information is being collected and used. Creating a civil trial based on a defense of alleged criminal activity may give us some insite. Once I am off probation, I will be looking for my FL fusion center. There will be media attention when the government crosses the line of squelching free speech. There will be outrage when an officer who doesn't know the law crosses the line to defend his/her preceptions of what the law should be. This would need to be an extremely calculated protest that feeds information back and forth with participants. State and local laws will vary for this style protest. The idea and goal is simply call the bluff by going all in and force the Fusion Center legistlation to show its hand regarding domestic terrorism and targetting law abiding Americans and soldiers of all political stripes! We need this exposure to dig deeper into this database to uncover the non-violent related information that is being accumulated and anylzed on behalf of corporate interest.
4) 10th amendment rallys These are what I would consider background issues and rallies based on this type of Rhetoric would be devisive IMO. However, I do support anyone who would want to combine and defend states rights along with individual rights. These rallies will be extremely politicized and slanted from what I have seen in TX. I do not see"bi-partisan" support for this type of activity. There is no clear target or public domain that I can see. State capitols possibly, but I do not see something like this being effective in states like FL that has no history of exercising its own rights. I am encouraged to see this issue brought up in a broader Bill of Rights type protest that I believe can be effective at every state capitol.
5) 2 amendment gun owners rallys. Same as above with the caveat, this would be an even more divisive and support the left right paradigm. The media would have a field day with this type of rally. The gun lobbies would have no problem co-opting this type of rally and turning into a gunshow.
6) Combine all the Amendment Rallies into one large Bill of Rights Rally. (Thanks Deborah!)
Just trying to bring some organization to our ideas. Keep throwin' out more suggestions!
This to me is an excellent idea that can be pulled off civil rights style. I view this type of rally much like the fusion center rally concept but with a broader area of potential in the public domain. Every city has a city hall. Every local government has a seat of power. These are public places that committed supporters can gather and take responsibility for their governments actions.
