According to a report I heard on KKOH Radio, Reno, the NV GOP didn't get enough RSVPs to hold their reconvene on July 26th, so they are going to appoint delegates. On KKOH they stated that the convention was recessed....not because of the time limit (which was their excuse at the time of recessing the Convention)...but because some Ron Paul supporters didn't like the voting rules.
This report turned the tables! That's what they didn't like...that we, legally and by 2/3rd vote changed the rule and that nominations needed to come from the floor, not some pre-arranged slate as created by a Nominating Committee.

I am so glad I got to be a delegate and attend the second day of the meeting hosted by Wayne Terhune and chaired by Mike Weber where we elected delegates and completed the convention. As many of us have thought, they never intended to reconvene. My guess is that they had a plan long ago and those names have already been submitted. Some delegates seemed so sure they were going and Zac Moyle said they had already made all reservations for the NV delegates. I guess Sue Lowden got herself in a pickle once before and knows she can get away with it...but if I were her, I wouldn't be so sure of it this time. What was done on June 28th was legal.

Time to cry "foul." If I learn of a plan to make an impression on the infamous Sue Lowden and Bob Beers...I'll let you know what we can all do to make our voices heard. This is complete disrespect for the American voter, much less the Republicans of Nevada.

The Nevada delegates definitely need to call the radio stations and defend themselves.

It is important to remember that Sue Lowden was involved in some shenanigans in 1998 when instead of being the NV GOP Chairman, she was the NV GOP Convention Chairwoman and assisted then, allegedly, in breaking the rules and shutting down Aaron Russo supporters. It will be very interesting what the RNC decides. My money is on the executive board appointees. This comment is interesting and if true, might stop that from happening. They might not even seat a NV delegation, but that would be a very tough call to make as many think Obama can take NV and not seating the GOP delegation from NV in St. Paul could spell doom for the GOP in NV. I also have trouble seeing them seat the Paul delegation, for obvious reasons.

According to RNC rule 15 (c) (1) (ii), the State GOP can only appoint the national delegates “where specifically provided by state law”. NRS 293.150 tells us that the State Convention is to select the national delegates, while NRS 293.160 discusses the powers of the committees of the various state-level political parties. Nowhere in NRS 293 does the law allow for the state party to appoint the national delegates.
Thus, the NV GOP will be in violation of RNC rules and Nevada state law when/if they appoint the national delegates.

The state party has really boxed themselves in by not have their "own" convention. It means they can't do anything official and state law does not give them the power just to appoint their own slate. Why have a state convention then or delegate selection process? Hoepfully, the RNC is fair (open question) and smart (hopefully) they'll do no worse than seat a split delegation. Or maybe seat both delegations, who knows? But if they seat just the party regulars, then Nevada will go to Obama for sure. Hopefully they know this.

When it comes to democracy the government calls the shots. Ask yourself this, did they ever give us the opportunity to decide whether we wanted electronic voting?

The party has boxed itself in. And it can't just send a slate as delegates.
However when have they followed the rules? My expectations from the RNC are they would rather zero delegates from Nevada than delegates who do not support McInsane. I expect continued dishonorable, deplorable, un-american, venal actions from this scum sucking facsimile of a Party.
The Nevada GOP slate was shot down in April.
That was what caused the walk-out. The realization that Nevada did not want McInsane as its nominee caused the illegal "recess".
The obvious fact that the delegates had a mind of their own and were not agreeing with the plan laid out by the GOP had them scared shitless.
And now to have them attempt to force feed us what we as delegates voted clearly against is another indication of how far their illegal tactics will go.
America should be up in arms over this and as pissed off as we are here in Nevada.
