What would be the perfect theme song for this revolution?

This one is very fitting

"I'm Free"

The Who

I'M FREE-I'm free,
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free-I'm free,
AN' I'm waiting for you to follow me.

If I told you what it takes
to reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say 'nothing's that simple'

I'm free-I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality

I'm free-I'm free
And I'm waiting for you to follow me.

Chorus:

How can we follow?
How can we follow

Say what you will, but I've always loved Amazing Grace, I think it is one of the most awesome songs in our nation's history.

There are also a lot of good ron paul singers and musicians out there, too many to name them all, but I think any one of those guys would be good too.

For the hardcore / metal fans out there...

*First Choice*

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH
Death Before Dishonor
here's a youtube that has animation (kind of silly) but you can hear the song

a close second would be:

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH
Meet The Monster

The coolest Calvinist and Ron Paul supporter around..

Derek Webb
The State

i was free to live and love and kill as i saw fit
i was at peace, there really was no one i was at war with
the only common good was that we understood that laws unjust were only good for breaking
that difference legalized instead of sameness left nobody free
that was the day before i married my conscience to the state

my taxes paid, these roads were laid to places of my choosing
there were no eyes up in the skies looking down into my bed
there was no government without our consent
keys were made for anyone who just claimed it
glass was all of every wall that framed it
from sea to shining sea
that was the day before i married my conscience to the state

right and wrong were written on my heart and not just in the laws that condemn me
now with caesar satisfied i can even do the things that should offend me

To those who said the Beatles' Revolution, realize that it's actually saying that things will be alright without radical revolution.

Lyrics from the song where my sig came from, the Dead's Throwing Stones:

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
Dizzy with eternity
Paint it with a skin of sky, brush in some clouds and sea
Call it home for you and me
A peaceful place, or so it looks from space
A closer look reveals the human race
Full of hope, full of grace, is the human face
But afraid we may lay our home to waste

There's a fear down here we can't forget
Hasn't got a name just yet
Always awake, always around
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

Now watch as the ball revolves and the night-time falls (note 1)
And again the hunt begins and again the blood wind calls (note 2)
By and by, again, the morning sun will rise
But the darkness never goes from some men's eyes
(Well I know)
It strolls the sidewalk and it rolls the streets
Staking turf, dividing up meat
Nightmare spook, piece of heat
It's you and me, you and me

Click flash blade in ghetto night
Rudy's looking for a fight
Rat cat alley, roll them bones
Need that cash to feed that Jones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

Commissars and pinstripe bosses roll the dice
Anyway they fall, guess who gets to pay the price? (note 3)
Money green, or proletarian gray (note 4)
Selling guns instead of food today (note 5)
So the kids they dance and shake their bones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

Heartless powers try to tell us what to think
If the spirit's sleeping then the flesh is ink
History's page will be neatly carved in stone
The future's here, we are it, we are on our own
On our own, on our own, we are on our own

If the game is lost, then we're all the same
No one left to place or take the blame
We will leave this place an empty stone
Or that shining ball of blue we call our home

So the kids, they dance, they shake their bones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

Shipping powders back and forth
Singing black goes south and white comes north (note 6)
And the whole world full of petty wars
Singing I got mine and you got yours
While the current fashions set the pace
Lose your step, fall out of grace
The radical, he rant and rage
Singing someone got to turn the page
And the rich man in his summer home
Singing just leave well enough alone
But his pants are down, his cover's blown
And the politicians throwing stones
So the kids, they dance, they shake their bones
'Cause it's all too clear we're on our own
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities

Ashes, ashes, all fall down
[Ashes, ashes, all fall down]
Ashes, ashes, all fall down
[Ashes, ashes, all fall down]
Ashes, ashes, all fall down
[Ashes, ashes, all fall down]
Ashes, ashes, all fall down
[Ashes, ashes, all fall down]

To be clear though, "ashes, ashes all fall down" does not appear to be advocating revolution either, but a great political song nonetheless.

There are lots of really good ones. But IMHO, this is the only perfect one ...

Chris de Burgh: The Revolution - Light a Fire - Liberty

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdT9oq7VBDA

The Revolution

Wake up boys, there's a light at the window
I can hear someone knocking on the door
There are voices in the street
And the sound of running feet
And they whisper the word --
"Revolution!"

There are men coming down from the valleys
There are tall ships lying off the coast
And they carry the light
In the dark of the night
Like a whisper in the wind --
"Revolution!"

Bring my gun and a handful of silver
By the sea we will gather for the fight
It's been so many years, so many tears
We have lost once before
Now we'll settle the score
When our cannons will roar --
"Revolution!"

Light a Fire

Watch and wait, get ready for the sign
There are many here among us now
Who have not seen the light
We must send the word to all the people in the land
Go to every hill and mountain
For the time is now at hand
To light a fire!
Light a fire!
Light a fire!

Let us march the road up the rocky hill tonight
Under cover of the darkness
We will slip behind the lines
And we will take the men who have stolen our land
For the years of domination
Hit them right between the eyes
And light a fire!
Light a fire!
Light a fire!

They will see through the world!

Liberty

Roll away the dawn
Roll away the dawn and let me see
The land of the free
Has anything changed at all?

Sweet liberty
Sweet liberty is in our hands
It's part of the plan
Or is it a state of mind?

Horses and men
Horses and men are on the field
They didn't yield
Many have fallen here

Never forget
Never forget what they have done
The time will come
When it will change again

Never forget!

All we are...all we are we are we are all...all we need....

Of course, there's "Above the Ashes" too...which I like. I have waaaay different taste in music than everyone else here though judging from what everyone else shares and my revolution click are probably a slightly different demographic too so...is all good, I suppose.

If peace won't come then let it be here when I'm gone
Hold me like a child and sell me like a diamond for ransom
Well, that isn't fair, you get to play the lottery with second chances
So, whether you win today, the rest of us lost every game
Okay, if those are your rules, I'll beat the system
I'm not afraid to play the game and I won't let things remain the same

Chained or captive, I'll be there, split the difference
You're no longer here, I'm bound just by the power of you, the rest ado
Well, that isn't fair, you get to play the lottery with second chances
So, whether you win today, the rest of us lost every game
Okay, if those are your rules, I'll beat the system
I'm not afraid to play the game, I'll beat the system
And I wont' let things remain the same

The power of the struggle, the push and the pull
I was already on top but missed the control
Women think it's superior but listen
Was played like a part in a selfish ambition
Now the power of the struggle, the push and the pull
Is inconvenient and even comfortable
But I'm not staying in this place no more
In this way no more and I'll say no more

How long did you think you could silence me?
Well, that isn't fair, you get to play the lottery with second chances
So, whether you win today, the rest of us lost every game
Okay, if those are your rules

Well, that isn't fair, you get to play the lottery with second chances
So, whether you win today, the rest of us lost every game
Okay, if those are your rules, I'll beat the system
I'm not afraid to play the game, I'll beat the system
And I won't let things remain the same, I'll beat the system
I'm not afraid to play the game, I'll beat the system
And I won't let things remain the same

I always liked Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG8ZUaLACZ8

I was walkin’ down the street
In the town where I was born
I was movin’ to a beat
That I’d never felt before
So I opened up my eyes
And I took a look around
I saw it written ‘cross the sky
The revolution starts now
Yeah, the revolution starts now

The revolution starts now
When you rise above your fear
And tear the walls around you down
The revolution starts here
Where you work and where you play
Where you lay your money down
What you do and what you say
The revolution starts now
Yeah the revolution starts now

Yeah the revolution starts now
In your own backyard
In your own hometown
So what you doin’ standin’ around?
Just follow your heart
The revolution starts now

Last night I had a dream
That the world had turned around
And all our hopes had come to be
And the people gathered ‘round
They all brought what they could bring
And nobody went without
And I learned a song to sing
The revolution starts now

R3volution - Don't Tread On Me

Let me tell you a tale about history
About the remnant of the brave and free
Strike the root of the tyrant's tree
A Constitutional remedy

Back in 1776
Fed up with the tyrant's tricks
They took an armed stand to be free
The shout rang out Don't Tread On Me!

[chorus]
A shot rang out across the land
A ragtag band would make its stand
A time to die or be free
Hear it foe Don't Tread On Me!

A shot rang out across the land
A ragtag band would make its stand
A time to die or be free
Hear it foe Don't Tread On Me!

[verse 2]
And learned men would take their hand
And document their maker's grant
Of life and freedom and liberty
A Constitutional remedy

But contracts are not without due force
And history had to take it's course
They knew that to live their philosophy
That I stand by you and you stand by me

[chorus]

[verse 3]
Father and brother took up arms
Shopkeeper, brewer and local farmer
Roustabout, rogue and livery
Joined in the fight to be free

Natural law and the rights of Man
For the first time there would take a stand
And change the course of history
And toll the bells of liberty

[chorus]

[verse 4]
They rattled 'em hard and knocked 'em to hell
The devils retreated, their agents had fell
Strike the root with the sword of the free
Show em your sovereignity

Blood of patriots waters the tree
That keeps the mothers and children free
If yer a real man you'll make your stand
Against the tyrants active hand

R3volution - Don't Tread On Me

The hand that feeds by Nine Inch Nails:

You're keeping in step in the line
Got your chin held high and you feel just fine
'Cause you do what you're told
But inside your heart it is black and it's hollow and it's cold

Just how deep do you believe?

Will you bite the hand that feeds?

Will you chew until it bleeds?

Can you get up off your knees?

Are you brave enough to see?

Do you want to change it?

What if this whole crusade's a charade?

And behind it all there's a price to be paid

For the blood which we dine

Justified in the name of the holy and the divine

Just how deep do you believe?

Will you bite the hand that feeds?

Will you chew until it bleeds?

Can you get up off your knees?

Are you brave enough to see?

Do you want to change it?

[ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/the-hand-that-feeds-lyrics-nine-inch-nails.html ]

[Inaudible]
[Inaudible]

So naive, I keep holding on to what I want to believe

I can see but I keep holding on and on and on and on

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees?

Will you bite the hand that feeds you?

Will you stay down on your knees
