What Would a Romney, Huckabee, etc. $6 mil. day media coverage look like?

I'm really having a hard time with the media coverage this morning. If it were anyone else, such as a Romney or a Huckabee, they would be considered a "juggernaut," but we get tag-lines like "money for nothing?" I'm getting increasingly more frustrated, and sorry everyone, I just have to vent. Perhaps seeing Ron on CBS tonight will make it better, but this has been a joke. Joe Lieberman endorsing John "I am politics as usual, I have no credibility" McCain is the big news today, not all of our hard work.

Let this serve as the frustration thread. They cannot keep us down forever, friends, and it is only after we take Iowa or NH or SC that they (might) actually pay attention to us so we can get the word out to the masses.

Maybe we can raise so much money because we can get no respect from the media? I'm trying to look at the plus side... It really really makes me want to vote and support, etc.

You're correct. And it is frustrating. When one thinks of the fawning media love-in given months ago when Obama had a few thousand subscribers on youtube "a new era in online campaigning" etc. Or the coverage today of Mitt in MTP yesterday - shown to be a total flip-flopper, they worry about how he got misty-eyed.

Can't say I'm surprised tbh. Remember Easter time this year - Obama given full media backing, Hillary spending a fortune on her website... this year was proclaimed to be the first "internet dominated election" etc. Many many articles on the subject. But what's this? Oh no! The people have chosen the wrong candidate. How dare they not support a "front runner"? Suddenly, if you believe Fox news, the only people who use the internet are cranks and weirdos! Hmmmm... And I thought it was 2007! They're jerks and they're going to look stupid soon.

I'm afraid they will never embrace Ron Paul. We've got to accept that. Right now at General Electric they're planning for billions of $ profit they will get if anyone other than RP wins. Ditto Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Blackwater, Walmart everyone. These guys are not going to give up without a fight.

Best bet is just keep pushing person to person, going to GOP local meetings and trying to get the old boys on side, hanging signs whatever... just keep pushing.

Ok rant over. Thanks for starting a frustration thread ;)

We'll see... It may take them a bit to get the story out there.

Let's see if Wolf covers it later....

It's been mentioned, but without much detail.

ABC News doesnt even have a single article about yesterdays haul on their website.

remember the huckabee coverage frenzy after his 3rd place in iowa ? well, paul is the fundraising leader of the republican party and crushed any one day fundraising record ever, all with money donated by small donors. i guess thats not important.

Frustrating and infuriating, however no big surprise.

You must realize that the Old Media is a part of the ruling regime and that they will do everything in their power to keep us down.

We must keep pushing, keep fighting, and as that supporter in Oslo said "keep pounding and pounding and pounding" to burst the dam.

Amazing isn't it!? If RP held fashionable views he would be heralded as the saviour of democracy, mastering the internet, getting young people into politics. Almost non-stop pundits go on about young people being uninterested in politics. Well look at yesterday! I feel so proud of this movement, yet we're treated as if we're crashing a party.

That's nice and all, and in a perfect democracy it wouldn't matter if we had media attention or not. But we live in a very flawed system and a flawed world and we NEED to show the world that this is a legit campaign. We're not going to get any new support when the tag-lines are "money for nothing?" RP gets a 30 sec. blurb about the record breaking haul, and it gets a little frustrating for those of us who are putting funds and effort into this.

Again, sorry to clog up the board with one (1) thread on this, but feel free to vent!

I've been paying attention to Fox News and CNN since this money bomb and I've noticed how they've been reporting. They treat these endorsements that McCain is getting as "real" news. And when they DO talk about Dr Paul, it's almost like a human interest story. Oh, look at this group of people looking for change, how nice of them! And they mention the blimp and chuckle. And they say things like, "he's got the money but not the poll numbers". Well, maybe if they took him SERIOUSLY he would.

It's disgusting.

We are fighting the entire system. The news corps and the press are one part of the corrupt system. The system is pushing the so-called leaders it wants. This is part of the control structure. RON PAUL is an outsider to this system and its not in the best interests of the men behind the curtin and press to push or promote Dr. paul.

Yesterday scared the establishment. Why would they want to report our success?

The media isn't our friend. The media isn't our friend. You get that?

No matter who it is, Tucker, Boortz, Beck, Cramer etc. They aren't our friends no matter what they say about RP. It's scripted.

They only say what they are allowed to say. Everything in their broadcast is planned out and manipulated on purpose. I never watch TV unless it's a clip on YouTube and it is 99% poison and 1% sugar. They lure you in with the sugar and warp your thinking with the poison(propaganda). Even if they gave us good coverage one day, the next day they would be saying "long shot", "crazy supporters", "spammers".

It's all fake.

Huckabee's fundraising is going to amazing, and he's been elevated to the status of competent fundraiser. Romney I don't know and don't care. But notice the discrepancy that will inevitably happen, the media is going to give Huckabee the credit he deserves for finally raking in big money, but not our Ron Paul.

That's the way it works, folks.

The media is owned by the same people who own Romney, Huckabee, etc. They're not going to give much coverage to Ron Paul, just get used to it. That's why we have to get out there and spread the word ourselves.

That's why we have to do big things so they're forced to cover us
