What Song Would You Want Paying on The Moment The Economy Tanks?

I would go with Coheed and Cambria "The Final Cut"

Megadeth - Foreclosure of a Dream

Rise so high, yet so far to fall.
A plan of dignity and balance for all.
Political breakthrough, euphorias high.
More borrowed money, more borrowed time.
Backed in a corner, caught up in the race.
Means to an end ended in disgrace.
Perspective is lost in the spirit of the chase.

/chorus/
Foreclosure of a dream,
Those visions never seen,
Until all is lost,
Personal holocaust.
Foreclosure of a dream.

Barren land that once filled a need,
Are worthless now, dead without a deed.
Slipping away from an iron grip,
Natures scales are forced to tip,
The heartland cries, loss of all pride.
To leave aint believing, so try and be tried.
Insufficient funds, insanity and suicide.

/chorus/

Now with new hope some will be proud.
This is no hoax, no one pushed out.
Receive a reprieve and be a pioneer.
Break new ground of a new frontier.
New ideas will surely get by.
No deed, or dividend. some may ask why?
Youll find the solution, the answers in the sky.

Rise so high, yet so far to fall.
A plan of dignity and balance for all.
Political breakthrough, euphorias high.
More borrowed money, more borrowed time.

/chorus/

"It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine" - REM

I feel fine because I'm so poor that I won't be losing anything. ;)

I never thought that being poor would be beneficial one day. I don't even have enough Federal Reserve notes to buy a bar of gold. Time to start hunting and farming again! Oh well, my life may have more purpose that way.

LOLing at some of the suggestions - good stuff! :D

I'd pick "American Tune" by Paul Simon
"We come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the age's most uncertain hour
And sing an American tune..."

or

"Killing Floor Blues" recently recorded by Buddy Guy
"Hard times are here
And everywhere you go
Times are harder than
They ever been before..."

Humanity
Auf wiedersehen
It's time to say goodbye
The party's over
As the laughter dies
An angel cries

Humanity
It's au revoir to your insanity
You sold your soul to feed your vanity
Your fantasies and lies

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
And now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye

Be on your way
Adios amigo there's a price to pay
For all the egotistic games you played
The world you made
Is gone

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
And now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye

Run and hide there's fire in the sky
Stay inside
The water's gonna rise and pull you under
In your eyes I'm staring at the end of time
Nothing can change us
No one can save us from ourselves

You're a drop in the rain
Just a number not a name
And you don't see it
You don't believe it
At the end of the day
You're a needle in the hay
You signed and sealed it
Now you gotta deal with it
Humanity
Humanity
Humanity
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

Take on Me, by A Ha.

I don't care if it's irrelevant; it's a bloody awesome song.
