I am interested in a semi auto shotgun. I have looked a little at the Saiga but you guys are much more experienced in this area than I.

My wants:
1. High capacity mag
2. Highly available ammo, no specialty-only ammo
3. Reliability
4. Low maintenance

Price not a big deal.

Thanks in advance!

Benelli M2 No need to look at anything else. Just get one and be done with it. Trust me I'm a real world gun guy

My go to shotty is a 14.5" 870 but since you wanted an auto loader the M2 is the way to go.

Thanks for the quick reply. One thing I would desire is a relatively high capacity magazine. Would it be possible to have, say, 10 or 12 rounds or more ready to go via a mag for a Benelli?

I do like the 20 round drum...

not the M4?

i love my 870 too; shorty barrel and pistol grip. always loaded and resting next to my bed. you could buy 5 870's for the price of the Benelli. I know you want an auto loader and i don't want to derail the thread; just sayin'

The M4 is very heavy and from what I've seen of them in the field they do not run as good as the M2s. You can go 7+1 with a tube even with 18" barrel. Learn to reload a shotgun and your good to go. Some of those 3 gun guys and stuff the tube full pretty dam fast

I absolutely LOVE my Saiga....

I got a .410, have two 15rd Mags, loaded with Silverbear slugs.. gonna make a clip for them so I have 30rds handy.

reliable, accurate, high rate of fire, no recoil (for the .410), cheap, and a slew of accessories for it= EPIC WIN.

I have around $800 in it as it sits... I did the math in another thread.. but don't remember exactly.

THAT'S a shotgun? If it is, fanciest shotgun I've ever seen. wow.

LOL.. and you can't even really see the flashlight or laser in that pic. :p

That's the "Go To" gun for home defense.. Light, no recoil, collapsible stock, and laser, make it fool proof for the wife.. hell, even my 10yr old girl can shoot it accurately to 50ft.

Some argue I should've went with a 12ga.. but that'd be too much for the wife or kid.. and besides, I haven't met the person yet that wouldn't mind being shot by a 97gr. 40cal slug. much less 4 or 5 of them;)

I've got a Saiga 12 similar to that. When you buy one of these things, there could be some extensive mods necessary internally to get this gun to be reliable. Mine was a "vodka special" two hole gas chamber model. Had to drill another hole and widen the existing ones, in addition to boring out the hole on the gas block. Along with buying a new higher performance gas plug and tappet. All of this can be found on saiga-forums.com

M4 hands down!
I have 4 shotguns 3 Benelli M1 M2 M4 and the Saiga 12

I think the best quality gun I have ever seen or used is my M4
I added a titanium 7 shot tube and the thing is sweet music.

Saiga's are nice but I would not trust my life to it even with Mods
