I am a senior mathematics major in my final semester, with a minor in computer science.


They say that people in my age group, 18-25 are the most idealistic. Additionally, I have read that 'math people' also tend to be very idealistic--I charge I won't deny.

And RP is pretty clearly the most idealistic candidate of the bunch.

As my slightly-not-right-in-the-head sociology professor quoted from David Wolf, "Idealism is what precedes experience; cynicism is what follows."

So many people out there are so disaffected with politics in general, but the Doc has the medicine.

And yeah, from taking an advanced mathematics course in Double Fourier Series, non-homogenous, non-linear eigenvalues/functions, blah, blah, blah, I'd say you math guys are VERY idealistic Too many impractical assumptions. Where the hell am I going to find a material which perfectly insulates? An infinitely long string?

The stuff I just mentioned is probably elementary to you, though...

I won the Westinghouse Prize when I was 12, big deal. Published at 19, so what. I got a double doctorate from MIT at 22, Chemistry and Geology. I taught at Princeton for two and a half years. Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, ok?
