What is Ron Paul's standing in the Jewish Community?

I know this is a pretty old article, from February 2011, but it certainly offers some perspective:

Ron Paul's stance on withdrawing all foreign aid, including from Israel, should be a tough sell with the Jewish community, as well as with the strongly religious non-Jewish community that is afraid that without US support Israel would get crushed by some Middle Eastern state.

So I'm just curious what's the consensus on Ron Paul's candidacy within the Jewish Community, or maybe I should say the non-elite Jewish Community (as I would think the elite is against Ron Paul regardless whether they are Jews or not).

Most Jews vote Democrat. The above chart is the percentage of the Jewish vote. There are way more liberal Jews than neocon or right-wing Jews.

They're not more pro another country, it's just one of their issues. Often, it's not one they've really thought about a lot. And, being pro-Israel is not confined to Jews, there are probably more pro-Israel evangelicals than there are Jews.

Depends on what generation of Jewish people you talk to. I have a close friend who speaks to a holocaust survivor on a regular basis and visits her. She warns people and tells us that it is happening again here in the U.S., the holocaust is beginning here is what she says. Shes in her 90s.

It's a tough sell for people who don't want to think. We give more to "enemies" of Israel than we do to Israel. They in turn have to spend even more to counter what we give their "enemies". Then, like all countries we give foreign aid to, Israel must "obey" the United States' orderes as to their own foreign policy and state sovereignty.

I can't imagine why anyone thinks us giving the Israeli Government foreign aid is helpful to the people of Israel.

I was once asked in a job interview for a finance position if I supported giving aid to Israel (myself and the interviewer were Jewish and he saw that I was President of the college libertarians). I said no and explained that we should end all foreign aid. I did not end up getting an offer... Maybe it had nothing to do with my answer, but the interviewer was certainly not happy.

The jews that I know (those from Israel) LOVE Ron's stance. While 5 israeli jews don't signify any form of consensus, they basically like the fact that he'd cut off foreign aid to all countries, thus releasing Israel from being treated like a child. Despite the pro-Israel NEOCON propaganda, I'm told that Israel is incredibly strong and quite capable of dealing with their own affairs. Might not be a consensus but it is a collection of people's opinions that I trust.
