What happened to the interest in RonPaulCoin?

It was a meme coin and the dev probably left. Only thing that matters at this point is the chains with the longest proof of work unless they are doing some sort of unique utility thing.

Someone should do a community takeover of RPC, add masternodes, experiment.

Seems like it needs to be hardforked so the chain doesn't get "stuck" like it has for so long. I always felt like it has a lot of potential to be made into something really awesome'r, and I agree a dev should take over and make it solid like gold.

That would essentially be starting a new coin and everyone elses existing RPC could be potentially lost. I think to get the chain going u need miners and 2 or more nodes. If it has to hard-fork, I would consider it dead. A person might as well give it a new name as to not confuse older RPC holders.

I think it was mostly removed from exchanges anyway.

looking at coinmarketcap RCP is making blocks but it isn't healthy...

Block # Time
1021150 8 hours 43 minutes

It isn't that hard to get a blockchain unstuck unless it's 100% masternode or 100% POS. One modified client can turn off most time checks to unstick a block and the rest of the network will usually follow along without a fork.

Now lately there have been a number of coins that have some block timing issues, in that you can effectively speed mine these coins by messing with your computer clock. The active coins have mostly corrected these issues. The non active ones not so much. Not saying this is what is happening with RCP but there have beena lot of blocks found very quickly recently. I have no involvement or any coin so haven't looked into anything other than the explorer.

Interesting, I wish I knew how to do what you were talking about with a modified client for when the chain freezes. I've seen that several times where it looks like a lot (20 to 50) blocks get mined very quickly and it's hard to tell if someone figured out the perfect way to mine it, to get insa-RPC's, but it hasn't concerned me that much, at least not yet. It would be really nice to see the chain stay stable for nice long stretch though. RPC with masternodes and stake rewards would be cool.

Sounds like RonPaulCoin MIGHT be getting listed on NovaExchange very soon, and hopefully Freiexchange soon enough as well :astonished:

For the block fix, if you have a linux machine I could point out how to do this, usually just 1 file change and a quick recompile, send me a PM.
