What happened to CopBlock?

Here is something to make you smile. I got pulled over by the cops the other day because I had my kid in the frontseat (airbag off). By law here you have to be 8 to be in the frontseat and my kid ain't. So the cop tells me he has to be in a booster seat or childseat and in the back. I tell him that the kid is 8. He tells me the kid doesn't look 8. I said, "well he looks young for his age, but he is 8. go ahead and ask him."

So the cop looks at him and says, "hey big guy, how old are you?"
the kid responds, "I can't talk to you without my daddys permission." --well trained he is
I looked at him and said, "its ok, tell him how old you are."
he looks at the cop and says "8, my birthday is September 11, 2009" -- we have practiced this many times and I remind him of it every time he gets the treat of riding in the front seat.

he let us go, with a suggestion that I put him in a booster seat in the backseat for his safety.

score one for training your kid to lie to the cops...

I'm supposed to be.

But I'm pretty sick and tired of it all.

Well yeah............. My pussy hurts too..

Everybody's leaving, conversations, if they start at all, degrade quickly...

It's getting chilly out at night and it'd be wonderful to just be totally irresponsible and jump on a scooter, grab a fat-sack and a bimbo and ride off for a while............But I ain't gonna and you can bet your fat ol' ass I'll give you a ration if-n you try....

Tired of my own voice man, tired of my own voice...maybe next time we'll get it right.

Hell, man, sadly that is the way of history, whether it's a simple Great Depression where some estimates have millions perishing in the United States to the outright genocide of the Greeks and Armenians from Asia Minor, foolishness has never brought forgiveness. Bad times come. Best thing to do is have a stocked pantry, an arsenal for self defense and live to be old enough to warn the next generation, who will probably ignore you.

Otherwise, find the best way to be at peace with this knowledge. This is the way of the world.

Sage advice.

Ecclesiastes 1:8-9 (KJV)

8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
