We bought a 2011 Element a year ago - absolutely LOVE it!! Perfect for road-trips since we boycotted flying!!

WOOOOO! Good for you Yeah my car is basically my baby. I always get the "Oh... an Element" look from my friends... then they get in it and love it with all the leg/head room.

I also have the privacy curtains (perfect for opening the sun roof and changing out of wet swim crap), the table kit (which takes a minute to assemble and is great for a makeshift BIG table), and a couple of other things I am forgetting off the top of my head...

2011... so you got it at the last year for them I need to take care of mine better (the spill-proof flooring doesn't help). I swear I have sand/mud in it from 4 years ago. *sigh*

I'm not in love with the looks of the Element, but is it true that you can pretty much hose off the interior? I heard that somewhere and I thought that would be really sweet.

My "camping" vehicle is a beat-up CR-V.

There's an Element owners forum that shows all kinds of mods and cool things you can do to the inside - I always figured we'd just live in it when the Zombie Apocalypse hits.. here's all the different ways you can turn the back into a real sleeper. Sleeper/Storage Platforms

I've got an all plastic/rubber/something floor that could definitely be hosed - but I don't know about the upholstery - you can take the back seats out at least.. a friend told me a leaf-blower does a great job on Elements with the way the sides open completely up and the back.

DUDE, WHO has the skyline... did you have to build that yourself? Thought they were not street-legal in the US unless shipped part by part (granted, the one I was looking at to buy probably shouldn't have been street legal)...?

didn't have to build it. they can be street legal after about 10-15k in modifications. i'm living in germany right now though. and they're street legal here. it isn't until the car is 25 years old till you can ship it back to the states free of modifications. just over 6 more years to go. i'm here till middle of 2014. i hope i can extend another year or 2. i'll end up in korea for a year i'm sure. after that i'll go to japan for about 3 years and that should put me at just the right time to ship it back to the states free of any modification.

I loved the retro Prelude, but I was sad because I knew the line was dying. This was the technology test platform. If you drove a new Prelude, you were generally 4-5 years ahead of the market. The SH was the last Prelude test of what became the SH-AWD in the RL now. There is no early adopter platform anymore, and it makes me sad.

you know your preludes. i was so disappointed when they stopped making them. so i intend to hold onto this thing as long as i can. 2nd to last year made, really low miles, and living in germany, it's one of the few here that's american spec and has VTEC. i could sell it for a pretty euro cent here for a nice down payment on a bmw. it's just to bad i'm not a fan of bmw.

My wife's toyota Rav4. We've been sharing that and saving money for about 3 years now. Previously I was driving my '59 Willys. The Willys will be sold down the road hopefully before the new year. Then it's a 'farm jeep cj' driven around the property for me -maybe on road occasionally. I'll attempt a thread for the 'farm jeep' build. I've got the vehicles for the 'farm jeep' project, just have to move the Willys to get started.

Everyone probably knows what a Rav4 is. So here ya go (looks good from afar-it's maybe about 60%-plenty good metal but needs work) :

We also have a 91 Mercedes 350SDL with 300k miles. It's also a great veggie oil candidate and I've had experience running veggie oil in my 94 Chev pickup. I used deep-fry oil from the chinese restaurants and the exhaust smelled like egg rolls (really, no joke).
