For whatever reason there has been a rather drastic Romney shift in some key areas since last Thursday. It's slowly evening out instead of a steamroll by McCain into a lot of delegates.

Predictions of totals post Super Tuesday
McCain: 665
Romney: 415
Huckabee: 180
Paul: 20

I know these don't add up to exactly the number of delegates distributed in total, but it's an estimate.

Am I the only one who noticed how CNN in the debate on the 30th seemed to talk to Romney more than McCain? Trixy, trixy!

So, anyone have any reasoning for this? I'm not seeing any difference in today's data. There's been a 200 delegate swing since Thursday for some reason.

Because people DO NOT want McCrazy. That's why. They want to buy time. They may not want Romney, either, but they aren't ready to hand it to McNameDropper so fast.

Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck have been putting McCain down and pulling for Romney. Even our local morning talk, Quinn and Rose, have joined the movement for Romney.

It's amazing how much influence these "commentators" have. The real question is why the switch?

I've been tunning into various AM radio stations and I've heard at least 2 dozen anti-McCain adds, a lot of them from Romney, others from various PACs. Everyone on the fiscal conservative wing of the Republican Party are ganging up on McCain, which is having the unintended consequence of downplaying the significance of the war on terror, this may work in our favor in certain areas.

I think your estimate is a bit high for Huckabee

Maybe, the Republicans have some wacky rules in certain areas, as opposed to Democrats and direct state wide proportional delegate dispersion. I believe I accounted for that as best I could, I might be completely off base. What's your prediction of delegate totals?
