What country should I move to?

My list of criteria for choosing an overseas locale.

1) 1st, 2nd, or 3rd world country. Take your pick and look at the globe.
2) probability of needing to learn another language. Not fluent necessarily but enough to buy food, change money, find medicine, etc..day-to-day stuff.
3) Infrastructure and your ability to travel around. I like places with roads.
4) Banking and finance ability, does it support your financial needs? ATM's, investments, access to cash? bank stability.
6) personal safety, are there roving gangs with .50 cals on the back of pick ups? - maybe that's your thing, dunno.
7) form of government, sorry I'm not into dictatorships and I assume since your using the forum your not either.

these are just some of the top areas I used to widdle it down. I also looked at the OCED website and with banking you can find yourself in a grey area pretty quick.

Check and see if the place you choose has whats called a "Totalization Agreement" with the U.S. this is IMPORTANT because you can avoid double taxation if they do. You either get taxed under the U.S. system or the foreign one. In addition, Travelex has a cash passport card to hold 5 different currencies on if you wish. https://www.travelex.com/cash-passport that will convert currency rates for you in a defined order of currency status. Dollar first, Euro, Yen, etc... I hope to make my plans a reality someday. But I'm not loaded so I have to find a way to do this on a dime. I though about Nevis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevis as a place to retire. The port city of St. Christophre looks awesome ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla google those images. But for me the island fever would be to much. I do have a place in mind and am working toward that end, its a 13 year plan but it will happen.

i would choose japan , i spent 3 1/2 yrs there and if a person would take the time and learn to speak japanese he would love japan , you could go 500-700 miles north of tokyo to hokkaido if you like winter weather or go south to kyushu if you like spring like weather .

in 3 1/2 yrs in japan i never locked the doors in home .

learning the local language is a big help no matter where you go .

.50 cal on a pickup is OK if I have the only one .

depends on your age, sex, language and other skills.

some countries are best for business, others for retirees, others for skilled employees.

if under 30 watch out for conscription.
