The pundits, media, and the general machine seems to be attacking RP the same exact way they brought down Buchanan.

Is there Anyone out there much smarter than I that has analyzed this?

This is history repeating itself......same attacks from the same sectors of society...How do we combat this?

I still believe that "any publicity is good publicity" but any sane person can see where they are trying to go with this brothel stuff....they cant attack RP directly so this is what we are fighting....

Has anyone analyzed Buchanan`s rise and fall? I am not the person you want analyzing data........not good at it to say the least.

I tried to point this out earlier, but they are going to try to associate Ron Paul with racists and his campaign will be totally destroyed by this.

Hence, my suggestion -- a minorities4paul.org site. I'll host it and pay bandwidth costs if someone throws up a decent template that I can edit and work with. Alternatively, I'll let whoever runs it edit and make it work. No cost to them, other than their time creating it.

I believe that the last time around they also constantly linked Buchanan with Nixon at every mention of his name. It is my theory that as every new decade passes, the Nixon stigma loses its potency.

On the other hand, I will forever be wary of any political candidate that is linked with Bush.

Bump.......will people please listen!

Buchanan is NOT a racist and they took him down that way...remember. Lets learn quickly.

We are smart enough to outwit these peeps but we have to move now.

Correct.

Oh, another thing that they did to Buchanan last time was they found out that he owned some rental property, so they tried to find tenants that would say bad things about him. The only thing they came up with was a guy that said that his toilet backed up and he had to call to get someone to un-slug it. True story!

NO WAY? That was a hit piece? If that gained traction then we need to really get some reality checks going here.

Buchanan should be our model of what to expect....lets build the arsenal to fight it.

I know Pat Buchanan personally and worked on the staff of his national campaign in 2000 (hence my JS4Pat Screen Name) .

Although Pat is NOT a racist - his provacative writings and speeches gave the MSM plenty of ammunition.

Dr. Paul does not come with that kind of baggage. I honestly don't believe this is that big a deal. It won't stick...

I will say, Buchanan is SMART he is not bringing up Dr Paul in any interviews but the message is solid :D And many many agree with him

Arizona is what took Mr. Buchanan down. He was expected to win that state after winning New Hampshire and then "suddenly" read some real suspcious voting results, he came in last which was third behind Bob Dole and even more laughable the worthless Steve Forbes.

The majority of people in this country pay no attention to the racist comments because it has lost all meaning. In fact, the way the media does things it would appear that the vast majority of americans are racists.

These smear tatics are a great sign the campaign is doing well. However, we must all keep working hard and sending in our money. There is plenty of work to do.

The racist charges will also blow up on our enemies big time. Pat Buchanan was a great speaker is could really bring out the blow torch with his rhetoric. Dr. Paul is a humble, grandfather type figure. It will look mean spirited to associate him with racists.

True story.

Look for THEM to dig up former patients, business associates, employees, schoolmates, Air Force associates, etc. to goad into spilling dirt on RP.

The slugged toilet guy was pressed into saying anything that might have been bad about his rental property. He offered that he called a representative of the landlord (pat b) and acknowledged that they came over and fixed it promptly. They asked whether it was slum property and the tenant said no.

We learned that you can make a lot of money running for president, and always accept matching funds.

Anyone who was witness to the Pat Buchanan campaign knows that the media will be out to try and bring Ron Paul down.

Buchanan only campaigned in NH, period. He had little national grassroots support, and no $$$$. We are sitting much better than where Pat was in 2004/2000. Why do you think they fear us? And one more thing, we are polling higher than Pat ever did. :) Oh, Buchanan didn't have much influence at all in the universities.

We can learn that Ron Paul's campaign needs to concentrate HEAVILY on South Carolina. Pat Buchanan won New Hampshire, but lost South Carolina to Bob Dole, and Dole won the nomination, whomever has won South Carolina since 1980 has won the nomination of the Republican party.

Though some have said it can be dangerous to 'cry' smear campaign, I think it is in our interest to widely promote the idea that much of the establishment has been and continually wants to smear us.

If this becomes well known, then any smear will be treated suspiciously and better yet present blowback to the media presenting it. Already I think they are growing weary of smearing Ron Paul or his supporters for fear of losing a lot of their audience and for becoming pidgeon holed as disingenuous hitmen for the establishment.

We have the resources to bombard the Internet with evidence of media bias and these stories will get picked up more and more by fringe media.

Not to mention boycotts and/or protests of sponsors, mass emails and phone calls and other such activities that will make the mainstream media hesitant to push smears. We already see the smearers at NRO and similar venues becoming more accepting of Ron Paul. These venues need traffic and smearing Ron Paul has proven to be a way of losing the faith of many regulars.

So we should be eternally vigilant in exposing the smearers and try to educate a very wide audience that the establishment is out to smear Ron Paul.

Don't cozy up to racists and anti-semites no matter how much cash they throw your way.

Ron Paul needs to take out an ad in a black magazine. Jet or Ebony would do the trick.
He just needs to say how he admires Dr. King and will do his best to make the dream of liberty for all a reality.

How about an RP commercial that shows clips of shammity, o'fascist, wallace, etc cutting off and smearing RP and then follow up with a question like "why don't these guys want to let you know more about ron paul?". Or something to that effect. The video clips of these indignities are obvious to all. Many, many people despise the media and this would be an effective way to interest people into seeking out what RP is all about. I would call this a blowback tactic on the media and I would like it if I were joe average voter.
