On a serious note, it'll be nice to have a government which threatens people in my name less. Hopefully he'll follow the trend of Democratic presidencies decreasing deficits. Honestly though, I have no idea what he's going to do. It's obvious most of his promises are infeasible.
To be accurate, they did decrease the budget deficits. That doesn't mean that they balanced it. Thus they helped to increase the national debt but less so than the Republican Presidents. They increased it [deficits] as well.
I can't wait for my stimulus check every month!
Vanishing of Bush/Cheney/neocons from the scene and Obama not becoming a a puppet in the hands of war monger foreign lobbying groups.
It's probably too much to ask though.
Neocons banished
Obama assasination would be the worst possible thing for the liberty movement.
1. If you think an Obama presidency would be bad, you havent seen anything than what would be passed "in Obama's memory" should he be killed in office or before taking office.
2. Riots followed by more police state (which sadly most GOP would support since it would be "crazy leftists" that were rioting.
3. Who would they blame? See: Vast Right Wing Conspiracy
4. It is never a good thing when the will of the people is overturned by an assassin's bullet. We will collectively get the collectivist leader we deserve. Sadly we will have to collectively suffer the consequences, imo.
If those four reasons aren't enough to make you TERRIFIED of the possibility of Obama being taken out, I can probably come up with more.
Long live President Obama, may his life be long and his presidency short (4 years or we can always hope he does something impeachable)
MICAHNELSON, nice try at marginalizing. I only wish that you were correct on the Muslim stuff. As far as the RP revolution being marginalized by the press ... it will happen again. The press will not even mention the RPR after the election. If McCain should win it will because of his values. If Obama should win it will be because of his guaranty of change. The libertarians, constitutionalists and the RP folks are simply not of importance in the greater scheme of things. It is truly sad that the RP revolution is dying such an ugly death. The anarchists and those unwilling to face reality have taken over the carcass of the revolution. We had a great opportunity to infiltrate the GOP but we blew it by trying to revolt before we had the numbers to truly influence the party platform. We tried to take over the GOP by subterfuge instead of by numbers. We gambled and lost. Instead of manning up and regrouping we started whining and let the troublemakers take over. When it became apparent that our coup was unsuccessful we should have backed the GOP candidate so as to undue some of the damage our premature attempt at taking over the GOP. If we had backed McCain and then continued to infiltrate the GOP we would be in place in four years to make major changes in the GOP platform. As it stands now any and all new people joining the GOP are going to be distrusted because of our actions.![]()
No reason to be gloomy...
1) I don't have to listen to Palin's Canadian-raising voice anymore.
2) I won't need to be reminded that McCain was a POW every other hour.
3) Biden is blunt. He's almost as enjoyable to listen to and watch as Bush.
