What about an ANTHEM?

I know time is a little short but wouldn't it be a good idea to decide on a famous song to use as an anthem on December 16th to catch even more people that don't normally care about politics.

The idea would of course be to request it on radio stations, put it on repeat in your car, at work or at home, and of course also use the Internet to make as many people as possible hear the song at least twice on December 16th. Then, if proven successful it could go on to be used during rallies, and generally throughout the campaign.

My suggestion would be Children Of The Revolution by T.Rex. Apart from the obvious, it's a classic song most people know or at least recognise. It's also not political and therefore no one should have any problem with the lyrics while they DO fit nicely with the hypocrisy, pandering and politics as usual of the neocons.

As for copyright issues, I guess the only problem would be YouTube videos and other ways of posting/sharing it online. Heavy airplay on RPR and "heavy requests" on radio stations all over the net would be no problem, right?

As a trained opera singer I would donate my voice to the cause, I have a few friends that probably would also. Although the average person would be like WTF and would be drawn to something more "mainstream". Maybe we'd be better off singing the national anthem at a rally. Gotta put those music degrees to work!!

One of the earlier Tea Party videos used the Iron Chef theme, which is pretty badass. Chairman Kaga --> Dr. Paul... it works, I think.

New Aimee Allen song aint to bad. She's a rather major recording artist. But ya, not really ana anthem.

1812 oveture is decet though...

Wow, that's one of few political songs I've heard that doesn't make me cringe. Usually when you mention real people and events in any form of pop music it just doesn't work for me, but this song is actually REALLY GOOD. Also, I was using the word anthem in the broadest sense possible. The idea was basically to pick a song (or piece of music) and make sure as many people as possible heard it as many times as possible on Dec 16. Since this song actually is an original one clearly supporting and stating Ron Paul's name (:)), and has a kind of war chant feel maybe it would even turn some peoples head on the first listen.

Perhaps there is too little time left to get the word out for this to happen during the Tea Party, but I urge everyone to take a listen to this song. At least it deserves more than the 103 plays it has got at this very moment.

Is anyone with me and AAjax?

There's a cool instrumental track by guitarist Steve Vai that would make a good anthem.

It's called Liberty.
