"McCain hires Ron Paul's economic advisor"

READ THAT headline 3 times fast... LOL

Luskin = SELL OUT

yes but im taking the lighter side of this right now... because it is sooo ridiculous IMO...

this guy LUSKIN has been on TV months now drooling over RP and now flips to the most ridiculous candidate.... NO integrity.. looks like Luskin is looking for a chair in the whitehouse

That is actually really good news for Paul. Paul is bright and educated on Money, the economy and the Federal Reserve. McCain is not.

This is actually really positive, I think it shows America, if the Media tells the truth, that Paul knows exactly what he is talking about with the Economy and our current condition.

In addition, it blows the entire leg under McCain on his attacks against Paul. I bet McCain really wanted that advisor in a BIG way, I am sure MONEY talked very loudly. Because....Ron totally schooled the candidates on the economy!

FACT!

I don't think this bodes wel at all. With Luskin advising McCain he can coach him on how to immitate Paul's positions. His biggest weakness was econmics.

If people are on the fence about RP, this could sway them to go with a frontrunner that talks the same talk.

I'm pissed.

The advisor was just recently hired by Paul, Paul has been on the same policy for years. You either know economics or not as the President. McCain is the one that is weak. If he needs to pull Ron Paul's advisor, that says it all.

There are some things you just cannot fake. As the President you have to also know if a advisor is giving you the best advise, how do you know that if you are not educated on the topic. To much trust to an advisor as the President. We are not electing the Advisor, we are electing the President.

This is wonderful!

Luskin is no loss to Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is certainly the presidential candidate who least needs an economic adviser, and, coincidentally, McCain is the one who needs one the most. I think it is a switch made in heaven. ;)

I agree TNR. Same with Romney's suspension: he says he did it to ensure that a pro-war candidate wins (i.e. not Paul).

I did notice in that last MSNBC Reagan Library debate McCain said something about being "tired of borrowing money from China."

I think that was the first time he'd ever mentioned anything about that before. There is probably a realization at the McCain campaign that he needs a much stronger schtick on the economy. Maybe they are going to try to adopt a watered down version of some of RP's positions.

This is McCain bending Paul over after Pauls question to McCain. Refer to my sig for referance.

I just saw Luskin on Faux last week saying how Dr. Paul should be advising all the other condidates on the economy, now he splits for McCan't??? We didn't need him anyways.

I smell a different strategy. Maybe they want McCain to look like he knows nothing about the economy? What is luskin gonna say about McCain's economic policies? "I'm coaching McCain how to be more like Ron Paul....Its not going very well..."

Or maybe they want McCain to win to create the perfect storm for a third party run????

I love it!

RP to McCain: "Well John, how's that financial advisor I sent over workin' out for ya?
Are ya learnin' anything?

McCain to RP: ARRRG! SPIT< FAUNCH! ARRRG!We need all the money to kill everyone on the planet! ARRRG! SLOBER! %&$#@*!!!

RP to McCain: "Are you OK? I'm a Doctor, would you like to rest for a moment?

With all the brainwashing McCain's had over the years, coupled with the near insurmountable task of completely re-learning economic theory in the short time available, he'll come off looking like a blind three legged dog in rush hour traffic!!
He'll try to wing it on the high points, and Ron wil put him to bed with "in-depth"economic strategies.
It'll be hilarious! LOL!
Note to McCain: "Changing horses in the middle of the stream might be hazardous to your campaign."

I wouldn't worry too much about all this. All that matters is that Luskin, a respected man in this field, clearly had a high enough opinion of Ron Paul to openly support him the past year and even take a post on his campaign. Along those lines, I would imagine the discussions between Paul and Luskin were ones between equals... and I wouldn't rule out a Luskin vote for Paul- notwithstanding his new position with McCain.

The McCain-Luskin discussions on the economy meanwhile will probably be akin to when you hire an Algebra tutor one week before the Final Exam when you know your kid's about to flunk out if he doesn't get his shit together. I'm sure some serious coin was thrown his way. I'm also sure he found it hard to sacrifice an opportunity to "educate" the presumptive GOP nominee on the benefits of pure free market economics. This could be a consolation prize for us- IF McCain wins... and IF he becomes an adherent to the Paul/Luskin philosophies. Plus, I know people don't want to think this way... but if the Luskin/McCain relationship works... maybe Paul lands an important Administration position with regards to financial/monetary and economic policy... or at the very least has a direct line into the McCain White House to offer his advice about these issues.

Anyway, for the time being, RP will be fine... and can score major points against McCain in an economics debate... no matter how much last second cramming he's been doing...
