What a joke? CNN article declares Rand as biggest loser in the debate.

What is so hard to ask all the candidates the same question with equal time, not conduct any polls, don't give any post debate coverage, and only wait till Election Day?

People want entertainment and to keep alive the delusion that their vote matters. That's why you get "forums" instead of "debates"-the latter is what you're describing.

I never thought Ron was a good debater at all. And the criticism of Ron was always that he came across as being weak.

Ron sucked as a debater, Rand is a bit better. The problem with Rand is he tries to provide the correct answer, which is a mistake. He creates an impression of a smart student trying to appease a grading body of professors, somebody seeking approval. He needs to try to gain control by connecting with people and forcing them to follow his train of thought. His ideas otherwise will not take. Also never give up your time, keep talking until interrupted. Do not use big words like non-sequitur, republican voters are not impressed with them, they switch off and you lose them, they also might think you are a liberal. Never assume people know anything, explain, you can not say "the tenth amendment." without explaining what it means.

I just watched a little bit of Fox News when stopping by to see my dad, and even Fox is admitting, albeit begrudgingly, that Rand saw an increase in support due to his debate performance, and that Scott Walker and Christ Christie have lost the most ground lately. The fact that CNN's own stinking poll put Rand ahead of Christie and Kasich is proof positive that they were trying to undercut Paul's performance and largely failed, though they definitely didn't help matters with their dishonesty.

CNN accomplished 2 of the things that they set out to do, which was to make Fiorina and Rubio rise in the polls. They may have partially succeeded in undercutting Paul's performance, but clearly not to the point they wanted to given how his grassroots support is beginning to coalesce following his rock-solid answers on foreign policy and the drug war, resulting in that recent straw poll victory in Michigan. I'd venture a guess that Rubio's guy assaulting Paul's strategist probably has something to do with Rubio's numbers in some of these states not actually being as strong as the national polls are suggesting, ergo frustration leading to a cheap shot sucker punch.
