WHAS: Rand Paul winning by FIFTEEN EFFIN POINTS! Conway can't believe this sh**!

They do have a point in with the weighting of the party affiliation turnout. But such arguments were strangely missing when older polls showed Democrats exceeding '08 levels of turnout in exit polls.

If the press gave credibility to those shaky models in 2010 where the GOP is surging then I think fair to give credibility to an election where it's more likely that Republicans will have a better year than the historical turnout suggests.

15 points. Wow.

I trust SurveyUSA, Dem establishment types outside Kentucky assume registered Dems will come out and vote for whoever they put up but that is not the case.

We know that "Democrats" in Kentucky are not allied with the national party which Conway represents and in the past decade they have voted Republican time and again

Good point.

There are a lot of conservative Democrats in Ky. You can't get elected governor of Ky unless you are a "conservative Democrat", whatever that means.

Mongiardo democrats, democrats against Obamacare, and prolife democrats in KY are going to stay home or vote for Rand Paul this fall. Conway's spokespeople are in gross denial if they feel the poll is inaccurate for reflecting this fact. Somewhere today, Mongiardo is smiling (nay, LOLing) while reading the courier journal.

Great News!

A couple of thoughts:
It is great that that Rand is doing well without even spending that much on advertisement. The poll definitely shows that Rand need to focus his message to the older demographic. While clarifying his stance on SS and Medicare he should take Conway to task for supporting Obama-Care, which has already cut huge funds from Medicare. Besides the coal companies and American Crossroads I have a feeling that a Pro-Life group may jump in with some $$$. It may be better for Rand to stay above the fray while letting others expose Conway.

Things we can all do to help Rand:

Sign up for the phone bank.

If you are local, help him canvass.

Is it too early to start planning the next money bomb? Somethinng next month to help Rand get over the finish line?

QFT

Phone-banking will be important. Canvassing doubly so if you're in or even around Kentucky. That's the only advantage the left and the Democratic Party has had. Even with that advantage they lose in Kentucky.

But this time we can take even that away from them.

An old marketing 101 adage comes to mind. "The dogs are not eating the dog food".

Sometimes it doesn't matter what the message or the spin is. The product is not liked, no matter how it is packaged.

To be honest, I think that was part of McCain's problem two years ago.

Lets beat this frat boy prick by 25

I want this race to be called 5 mins after polls close.

Um, me too for the second part, but perhaps 'frat boy' is an unfortunate term to use....unless you want to get into fine distinctions between Sigma Chi and the NoZE brotherhood....

But David Frum said a few months ago that Rand's popularity would decrease and Conway would start surpassing him in the polls. :P

Where is the Guardian UK on this? They had a great tear down of Frum's various (ludicrous) positions on Rand's race after the primary. Frum hates the Pauls, and that is all there is to anything he says.

He's sort of the Lisa Graas of the DC blog set.
