WH pushes back after Rand Paul suggests Trump asked him to deliver letter to Putin

This just shows how shallow your understanding of Nationalism and putting America first is, the DoD is the biggest black hole in the budget and putting America first will mean ending the wars, retracting the empire and slashing its budget to the bone, it also means cutting taxes and regulations to unleash our economy and ending entitlements that encourage people to not produce.

I count 6 tasks there, only 2 of which are even somewhat supported by the current administration. Which of them do you think will happen?

Libertarians won't have meaningful influence within the party until Trumpian nationalism is defeated.

I'd argue our influence has never been bigger. Is there room for more influence in the future? I don't know, but would 2008 me be happy with today? Hell yea.

Can you give an example of a pro-liberty policy change which you believe our alleged influence with Trump brought about?

...increasing federal spending...?

Obviously increased spending is not but the tax cuts and repealing the individual mandate was good enough for me as thats what I wanted (did not have any expectations for) and thats what I got. Buying health insurance across state lines and the health associations was a bonus.

Tax cuts phase 2 would be welcomed.

W. Bush did big tax cuts; any GOPer would do tax cuts. That's an easy political win, no cost (until the debt bill comes due anyway).

Likewise with the individual mandate.

Notice how they didn't, on the other had, eliminate the rules re preexisting conditions (i.e. the legal prohibition on the selling of insurance).

In any event, the point is that Mitt Romney would have done the same useless things; it's got nothing to do with us.
