West Virginia, Indiana(open), and North Carolina vote Tuesday May 8th

What's Amendment One? Will that help us or hurt us?

It is a poorly worded 'defence of marriage' amendment that will end up costing taxpayers millions in litigation. Will it help or hurt Paul? No. It is on either ballot Dem or Rep. Dems will vote on Dem ticket. Reps on Rep. The unaffiliated middle will choose either ticket but not based on the amendment.

To ban gay-marriage (or in their flowery words "to defend the precious institution of marriage"). The homophobic Christian Taliban here will come out in force to vote for this, which doesn't bode for our liberty candidates - Ron Paul, Glen Bradley, Mike Beitler etc.

I wouldn't say that. First, it's driving turnout on both sides. But second, and more important, a lot of strong social conservatives are also Ron Paul voters. That so-called "Taliban" home-schooling community has been one of Paul's core constituencies since long before even his '08 run.

From Reuters (today):

Supporters say it would preserve the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman and make laws forbidding gay marriage harder to repeal.

Opponents say a ban would jeopardize health insurance benefits for unmarried gay and heterosexual couples and signal that the state is unfriendly to a diverse workforce.
Obama and Bill Clinton are against it and Clinton sent Robo calls to NC voters yesterday.

Just voted for Ron and his 22 delegates in Morgantown, WV :)

What good does it do for us if Dems turn out against it? They will be voting for this on the Dem ballot which doesn't have Paul on it.

I don't consider home schooling a social conservative issue in the same vein as abortion and gay marriage. The latter two drives the so-cons here and they hate Paul for not coming down hard on those issues. (e.g. Dr. Paul voting “no” on the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act.) Again, I haven't interviewed every so-con in the state, so I am just conveying the impression I got from whoever I have talked to. There might be exceptions. I fully expect Santorum to get more votes than Paul.

My prediction - Romney > Santorum > Paul > Gingrich, with Paul's and Gingrich's numbers very close.

Quick question: My woman is all bajiggity about me taking a picture of my ballot and posting it online. Is that illegal or something??

Are there any live streams of anything today?

Any Paul speeches?

I need my fix.

My name's Danny, and I'm a Pauloholic.

Don't worry about. I think we have seen enough WV ballots today already. :)

Just don't get thrown out of the polling place on this technicality and waste a vote.

Nobody said anything while I saw in there, so I think I got away with it scott free :)

Now, hopefully the 25-30 friends of mine that assured me they would be voting for Ron also turn out!

This new yorker is holding his breath for good Paul turnout and gunny to mop the floor with his opponents
Let's go!

That's awesome that you could get that many of your friends to vote for Paul. High five!
