Wesley Snipes jailed for 3 years in tax case! This is insane.

Co-Defendant Douglas Rosile, whom prosecutors called a "defrocked certified public accountant," was sentenced to 4-1/2 years for his part in the scheme. Both were convicted of conspiracy and tax fraud.

Prosecutors said Kahn and Rosile were "incorrigible tax offenders" whose anti-tax schemes caused "enormous damage to the administration of our tax system." They said at least nine other Kahn customers had been convicted of criminal tax violations and two had been indicted.

This is insane! I thought the only thing the govt could do was fine people that do not pay income tax. But no, they throw people in jail for years. This is so wrong. That tax money is not the govt to take, and that jail time is not the govt to take. The govt does not own you or your labour. You are not a slave! Im so pissed off taxprotesters are actually being put in jail for a decade! Shit, people should be out in the streets burning down their local tax offices over stuff like this. Maybe then the govt would start listening.

he should of never let go his right to a court of record. the tribunal is separate from the magistrate and could have not given that sentence. the judge or magistrate wouldn't have not been able to make an example of him. the tribunal in a court of record is the jury. and jury could have given sentence they see fit. could have been more, but at least its his peers giving out that sentence.

(a) Cross references. The cross references in this title to other portions of the title, or other provisions of law, where the word "see" is used, are made only for convenience, and shall be given no legal effect.

(b) Arrangement and classification. No inference, implication, or presumption of legislative construction shall be drawn or made by reason of the location or grouping of any particular section or provision or portion of this title, nor shall any table of contents, table of cross references, or similar outline, analysis, or descriptive matter relating to the contents of this title be given any legal effect. The preceding sentence also applies to the sidenotes and ancillary tables contained in the various prints of this Act before its enactment into law.


ok now you read it, here is what it means.

26 USC 7806(b) says that Title 26 is not the law. In other words, "No inference, implication or presumption of legislative construction shall be drawn or made by reason of the location or grouping of any particular section or provision or portion of this title..." N.B. "legislative construction" means "law."

ok we know this is what it means because of this case law and many others :

The Internal Revenue Code itself provides that nothing is to be inferred from the grouping or indexing of any particular section, 26 U.S.C. Sec. 7806(b), and this court has held that the title of a statute cannot limit the plain meaning of its text. Pike v. United States, 340 F.2d 487 (9th Cir. 1965). Therefore, the fact that Sec. 4161(a) is located in that part of the Code dealing with "recreational equipment" and "sporting goods" is of little significance.

These people are heroes and need to be seen as such.

In a nutshell (not like WE don't know this),...
These people, of their own free will, chose to work.
Since they chose to work, they were subsequently punished by federal and local governments by having their money expropriated (stolen) from them.
The money that was stolen would not have existed had these people not chosen, of their own free will, to work. It's their money, but the state and federal governments have the guns, so now they go to jail. Again, this money would not exist had these heroes not chosen to work.
Government makes no money, AT ALL. Zero. It only takes money. Because these people didn't feel like giving their property away, they've been put in jail.

His lawyers are trying to get him probation that comes with a several million dollar price tag. While they are trying to use Mr. Snipes as an example to pay taxes, they are only using his name, not his body, to claim the responsibility.

Please don't overlook the other members of the case, who, even if they have the resources to appeal, are looking at longer sentences and less of a chance to overcome the charges.

What this case shows us is that even though we might think income taxes are a huge wrong, until we have either changed general public opinion or the actual law (however valid), we should continue to pay our tribute. Unless, of course, that tribute is more valuable than the freedoms lost by not paying it.

It may not be long before we can convince enough of the population not to participate in paying that we create a different game, where even more people are willing to not pay the next cycle, and the government would lose too much going into tax court with that many people.
