Welcome former Newt supporters!

There are so many things Ron Paul has in common with Newt Gingrich that you will find it easy to switch over the Dr. Paul.

Ron Paul and Newt were both Congressmen...

Hmm, that is about it.

Welcome!

Don't we need Newt to stay in the race to make sure its more likely to be brokered convention? ^^

Welcome!

Dr. Paul has talked about the gold standard and the Fed for decades. Newt has talked about it for months.

Newt's won a state. You'd be delusional to think ANY of his supporters would be coming here.

Newt isn't dropping out. He wasn't even campaigning in Maine. Moreover, the lion's share of his support wouldn't come to RP anyway.

Well...there is a lot of cross-over between Newt and Gingrich supporters. I think we would be lucky to get a 1% bump from Newt dropping out while Santorum would get a huge bump.

Newt maybe shooting for a brokered convention. He also may know that there are a lot of southern contests coming up in March (almost all of them) and the GOP rules have awarded extra delegates to most of the Southern states because they've done a good job of electing republicans (stupid I know). So Newt could be making a magical comeback in March here...and he knows it. I don't see him dropping out until April...if even then.

What's interesting is that Santorum is targeting Georgia. He may be going for the jugular as it would look very bad for Newt if he didn't get Georgia on Super Tuesday and that might be the one thing that would force him out.

OK, but honestly I did read he was. But I didn't look into it. It might have just been speculation. I do understand he is leading in the polls in Georgia.
