Wearing suits to the march?

Suits were much more commonly worn in that day, by your average working stiff.

Regardless of that, it is a good idea. However, omitting the suit coat for men may be a good idea, as most are very dark (or black), and it will be summer.

Regardless, dressing up nicely and not having mo-hawks would generally be a good idea.

It's 106 miles to DC, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hit it!

I guess you've never had to persuade anybody. Image is crucial to what needs to be accomplished. People should look their best. Like a job interview. Of course, be yourself. Just Dress like you are going on National TV( Because we hope we are)

yeah...i'm thinking i have since i worked in sales for 5 years. i'm not going to a job interview in DC and my son won't be wearing a suit either. wear suits if you think it's a must...just don't get mad when the majority of us show up looking like regular people who have children. 8 to 12 hours in a suit, outside in crappy humidity...if you can take it...props to you; you're a better person than I am. Have fun=) I'll be the breezy one not sweating and still getting my point across..."I support Freedom"

Darnit...I was going to wear my hippie jeans, peasant shirt, and Birkenstocks... :(

Seriously, though--if you want to wear a suit, go ahead. Lil' old homemaker me will be wearing something more comfortable and appropriate to my occupation. :)

Red White and Blue it is - Blue Suits, Red Ties, white shirts - will look great on television

I would do the lady godiva thing but I am afraid my birthday suit needs ironing!;):D

Great idea!
How about red white or blue ties for the guys.

T-shirts are not allowed in so many places, lets avoid them. Same with blue jeans. Lets dress as if this was a very important event.

lol. hmmm, my son has a mohawk. and i'm guessing some anarchist will show up. alot of them sport mohawks. as long as they're not violent...I don't see the problem.

why is it on a forum where we promote freedom and ppl being individuals....we all of the sudden want to tell ppl how to dress and look? this is just mind boggling to me.

I say..if you're paying your way to get up there...you can look however you want to look. That's no one's concern. If you want to be comfortable...then be that.

I'll dress like I normally dress - except I'll wear jeans instead of shorts - button up collar shirt, nice shoes, etc.

I think as long as people aren't dressing totally crappy or wearing crazy offensive clothing, most people will be dressed well. I doubt that we can really get the word here though... I mean, we're talking about a million man march, and I don't think even a fraction of that checks the forums...

Mohawk tied back in a pony tail with a little gel makes a little more presentable.. Well long ones anyways...

Mine used to be a little over a foot long back in the day, and thats what I did when I had to get dressed up for something. Not great, but better...

But that was a long time ago, before I had to get a job..

How bout something like this. The 80s rocked my socks. Cyndi Lauper formal is what you'll get from me if you keep saying shorts and a t shirt are not appropriate. bwaaahahahahahaha!

Actually, we should dress if we were going to your favorite place of worship and/or the way your mother dressed you when going someplace important. (Of course, except for the ladies who wish to go Lady Godiva.)

This is the biggest sales event ever. Dress for a sales job.

What the hell do you people wear when you canvass?

No wonder we keep losing primaries.

That's what me and my RP ppl wear. side note: this is after 8 hours of canvassing. there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. ppl i talked to were extremely receptive and loved my shirt.:p

Military Supporters should wear their dress uniforms!

Lawyers should wear their Shark Suits!

Off-duty Police should wear their Uniforms (if that is legal)

We are a very diverse group of people from all walks of life - and we want the world to know it! Don't wear your every day bumming around the house casual wear - dress like you are SOMBODY IMPORTANT!

Because you are - you are an American Voter/Taxpayer!

Well said, i completely agree :D

I'm going to be wearing something business casual i think, since i am a business man by trade

Prom dress is much more awesome. LOL you are still dressed very nice, hair and makeup done, jewelry, and I bet your nails are done, too. People tend to look pretty ratty at rallys and then get mocked and dismissed. This is largely don't with this statement "Rag Tag" or "kids" etc.
