What an amazing Convention we had in Maine!

We elected OUR Convention Chair and Convention Secretary.
Brent Tweed was our chair and he did an outstanding job. Also on the platform with him were Parliamentarians and
it was a team effort. An amazing team effort. Brent was fair and balanced and in control and handled himself so well.
It was beautiful to watch!

Despite the dirty tricks of the Romney campaign in circulating "2" counterfeit slates, we won FAIR AND SQUARE.

We won with knowing the Rules. We won with hard work. We won with our Passion for Liberty.

It was GLORIOUS!

We elected our Convention Chair and Convention Secretary.
We took ALL 15 elected Delegates to go National.
We took the seats of State Committee man AND woman.
We took the 2 National Electors.

15 = elected RP Delegates
6 = 3 each from 2 Congressional Districts
3 are Party choices and Automatic - None are Ron Paul.

WOOOT!!

Please please please make sure people go BACK when it is reconvened since it was not adjourned!! They pulled so many dirty tricks we don't want to lose any of that progress!!

THANK YOU MAINERS!!

Parliamentarians at the Conventions and Roberts Rules of Order

At our convention in Maine each delegate was credentialed and given a yellow folder.

In the folder was the agenda, the list of RP endorsed Committee People, our RP slate and a chart of RRofO Motions Chart:

www.robertsrules.org/motions.htm - This is basic and all you really need.

Of course, we had 2 Parliamentarians at the Podium with Brent Tweed, our elected RP Delegate Convention Chair.
One of them was Thomas Balch, who co wrote RRofO 11th edition. Everybody who knows about this kind of stuff knows TB.

And the Maine GOP paid for it.

What needs to happen this weekend with 6 conventions taking place is have Parliamentarians at their Podiums. It's a MUST!

I have been calling any staff I could find in these states to emphasize it. Especially after last weekend in OK and AZ.

As Ron has been saying all along - It's about the Delegates. It's always been about the Delegates.

Email from Erik Brakey sent today:

Maine Ron Paul Supporters,

As I reflect on the events of the Convention, I am so proud of what we acomplished here in Maine for the Cause of Liberty.

Our opponents did not always play fair. Whether they were handing out counterfiet delegate lists or filibustering the convention proceedings, we held our heads high and persevered. We won a decisive victory for Ron Paul in Maine.

100% of the National Delegates for Ron Paul.
100% of the National Alternates for Ron Paul.
100% of the Presidential Electors for Ron Paul.
100% of the National Committee Seats for Ron Paul.

We even took a decisive share of the State Republican Committee for Ron Paul supporters. Now we are in the drivers seat of the Maine Republican Party.

Our fight, however, is not over.
With victory comes the responsibility of leading.

Republicans across the State of Maine are now looking to us for what comes next.

In the coming months, we will see a definitive race for the Republican Party to mantian its majority in the Maine House and Senate. Now that we are leaders in the Republican Party, it is important that we lead the Republican Party to success.

This is why I am urging all Ron Paul supporters to Continue Attending your Local and County Republican Party Committee Meetings. This is how we continue to affect change in the Repubican Party.

This is also why I am pleased to ask you to Stay Posted for a Major Announcement Early Next Week.

Several of the campaign and grassroots leaders are working hard on the next big project to carry forward the Liberty Movement here in Maine into the next phase.
Look for an announcement from me next week.

For Liberty,
Eric Brakey
Maine State Director
Ron Paul Presidential Campaign

IS Thomas Balch available at other conventions?
