We Need A Plan to Win the SRLC Straw Poll

I have already rounded up 5 supporters here in Houston who can pay their own way and will either carpool or travel with me there. I work the night shift so I've been asleep all day, but I am very encouraged to read this thread and see how it has taken off. This could really be the launching pad for Ron's presidential run if we can pull this off.

And for that matter, the hours. If I'm not mistaken, the CPAC straw poll closed earlier on Friday afternoon (1pm) than it did last year.

I'd like to see them dismiss everyone of their own straw polls, including the Iowa straw poll... and i'd like to see them dismiss the outcomes of the early primary states.

If Ron Paul was actually going to win the Iowa straw poll, then we go through the motions of him not getting invited like the SRLC thing.

If there are really sponsorship offers to go around, I'll do my best to make it. There's enough time between CPAC and SRLC that I'd be able to get away, but I'm doing my best to save money for grad school next year and already used more funds than I wanted to in DC this past weekend.

Regardless of whether I go, it should be a priority to (A) Get Ron Paul a speaking slot/on the straw poll ballot, and (B) Get as many C4L/YAL/Tea Partiers there as possible.

We have a couple thousand brochures left from CPAC, that would be perfect for this event. I would send these to you guys to disseminate. Once it's nailed down give me an address to send them to. There are 2 different brochures....candidates and orgs.

Two different Facebook rumors have been cited in another thread that say Ron Paul has been invited to speak but that they're awaiting his response. Also, they say his name will be on the ballot regardless. We'll see what happens.

Perhaps we should have a sub-forum of Hot Topics for discussing straw poll plans.

I agree. We already know from previous online polls (where we duked it out with Romney supporters) that Romney folks check these forums.

Does not help that googling "srlc straw poll" brings up Daily Paul and RPF links showing us trying to win it (with this thread being link #4).

What day is the straw poll on? It will be hard for lots of people to take that many days off. Some of use may be bale to show up just for voting day.

I checked the site for the Conference and as of now it does not say what day the straw poll is. They have a draft agenda up that does not include it. They will not have a main calendar up until 3 weeks before the event. So we need someone to find out or if anyone has any experience with the SRLC, it would be good information to have.

By the looks of it I'm guessing the vote will be on Friday or Saturday.

BTW, if any Romney folks want to help Romney win and google "Romney Srlc straw poll" this thread comes up. I found a group called Evangelicals for Romney who is trying to get together people to make Romney win the poll. Other than that I didn't see any sites that are.l

To my knowledge, no, Ron Paul has never spoken to the SLRC.

If Ron Paul doesn't go, I don't think we should. We'd just be running around getting pissed off by the many neocon speakers. This isn't like CPAC, there won't be CFL booths or CFL events--just neocon and more neocons.
