We need a November moneybomb

Hi, really haven't read the whole thread, but the teapot sounds interesting. Also, what comes to mind, given the 12/16 MB, is the slow burn of a long fuse. You could have a lengthy fuse leading up to the bomb. The fuse is the days leading up to 12/16. Maybe along the fuse, have what the intermediate goals will accomplish: ad buy, signs, etc. So say there is $2million by 12/16, things can just explode on that day.
If we can't use something like this this time, maybe later. For, say, July 4th, I could see a box full of fireworks with one going off whenever an intermediate goal is met during the MB. So people would not only watch for their names, they'd watch for it to hit every, say $250,000 or so to see a different firework go off. This could also involve whoever donated at that point and they could maybe get something for it, like an autographed photo of the Collins J/K! There could be something more spectacular for the million dollar marks, and who knows for $5million or breaking the $6.1 million record.
I'm as aware as most that just because we understand why the economy is tanking doesn't mean we are above it all. Things are tough all over. But we have to keep dreaming and them build foundations under the dreams.

Moneybomb from Now until December 16th- Fill The Tea Pot For Ron Paul

Great idea :)

Sounds great for me, too.

Now that's not a bad idea!

I'm in favor of putting the ticker back up now. We need an end of the month push, simple as that. I also like the "Fill The Tea Pot for Ron Paul" idea as well, however, I think the title needs to be shorter and catchier. The tea pot imagery works though. Perhaps when we reach our goal it can blow smoke and whistle. :)

Fill The Tea Pot, Paul's Tea Pot Push!, Operation: Momentum, A Response to The Media's Smoke and Whistles, Pour A Cup For Paul, Iowa: Full Steam Ahead, etc. My brain's maxed out.

That is a great idea. Awesome call!

Indeed, they did. I think this Fill the Teapot idea is awesome. Starting the donations ASAP is the way to go.

Yes, this! I should have read the whole thread before I posted above. A prolonged "push" into Dec 16 just seems like the obvious thing to do. Wouldn't that make everyone happy and be ideal for the campaign?

Although 6 million is very, very ambitious. I guess the campaign can decide what is realistic.

At the very least we need a ticker.

So thats plenty of agreement right there. Can anybody with the ear of the campaign tell them its what the we would like to see?

1. Someone put a poll to settle this.

2. I don't like the idea of people "competing" the moneybombs. All of the money goes to the same places. '11 is NOT a year of HUGE moneybombs like '08 was, the economy is worse and, frankly, we have had more moneybombs this time around. I feel like there are a lot of people feeling nostalgic for the "$6M' moneybomb that happened, but I want to make one thing clear: it is better to be excited about opoll numbers higher than we have ever seen. EVER. than to be retroactively excited about raising 6M and hoping to see numbers like that again.

This is politics, not some sort of game. We need to run ads in Iowa NOW to capitalize on Cain's failing and to counter Perry from regaining momentum (if that's even possible for him to regain). Sure, it's less exciting and sure, we might not get all pumped and souped for a few hundred K over a few days like a one day bomb will do. But we are trying to get this man into office. To do that, we need to get them money now.

I say we go with WINNING IOWA and make it the 10-day push leading up to the end of November. It's simple and lets people know what the purpose of their donation is. All those people at home over the holidays, digesting turkey while on the internet, could be tempted to donate. We also catch those who get paid at the end of the month.

I can just imagine all the big family get-togethers that will happen over Thanksgiving. And if the subject of politics gets brought up over the turkey and if there is just one Ron Paul supporter in the bunch he/she will have the opportunity to discuss him with relatives that they seldom see at any other time of the year. They will talk about his campaign and tell their skeptical relatives to look him up. They might come to the website and if these people can be convinced of Ron's message and campaign we might have some new donors.

The only problem with the 'teapot' idea is that there is a 'tea pot' party, Willie Nelson's or someone, and it specifically pushes legalization as its PRIMARY goal. In fact, I think that is its ONLY goal. Maybe some other container?

And I like the long fuse.

Campaign needs money now:

Amount: $20.12
Transaction ID: 320587460
Transaction date/time: 2011-11-17 10:03:30

I'm a college freshman. Unemployed…just under the table stuff (don't tell the IRS :p). Don't be a punk and donate all you can now…$9, $20, $2,000. Sacrifice eating out if you have to, cut down on driving, save electricity, whatever works for you. I found my piggy bank which has $40 worth of coins…its now dedicated to Ron Paul. Maybe we can start couch change for Ron Paul. :p

What you fail to understand is that Paul makes money through big moneybombs. We don't have conventional fundraising, if we split up moneybombs to every other week we will end up with a drastically smaller OVERALL total because there was no promotion, and no enthusiasm. Moneybombs work for us whether you want to call it a game or not

I understand you're opposition since you're passionate about promoting Dec. 16 and are probably spending a great deal of you're valuable time doing it. But this is not about us as grassroots supporters it is about helping Ron Paul get elected and don't get me wrong I think Dec. 16 helps just as anything else does. Ron Paul says to do what you want to help him. However, per bluesc, this is not about high donation amounts it is all about getting him money NOW. We want him to get his ads back on the air in Iowa ASAP. What is wrong with an end of the month push? It won't detract from Dec. 16. We promoted the EOQP 19 days before BTO; I don't believe it took away from it at all. Above all, you're not going to get the show-stopping $ total on Dec. 16 that we dream of - not going to happen. The novelty of moneybombs has lost its luster.

The campaign would benefit from an end of November push. It needs to happen.

The campaign would get like 600k from an end of November push. It actually IS about high donation amounts as that generates additional donations, hence a much higher overall amount. Paul can't solicit individuals for 2,500 to get all of his money like other candidates..

The most money raises has been from those moneybombs which were advertised well, got legs and took off. There are no guarantees, but BTO showed some of that, we had the donors, but not the dollars. So focus on getting from 43k donors to 67k donors and you'll get it. It does take viral action to make it happen.

That said, the grassroots needs to unite behind a single idea or we'll lose effort, time and money in the bitching and lose both ways.
