We may have lost the battle, but we are winning the war!

You just keep on dreaming. Meanwhile I'll be standing with the party that is promoting the true philosophy of liberty and voting for Gary Johnson

Because the Libertarian Party is going anywhere in a hurry?

You can still help energize the LP while being a registered Republican. In a lot of states, the LP isn't considered a legit party because it never meets the threshold every election or other requirements. Here in Maine, LPME is legally a PAC because it doesn't meet the minimum requirements. So what you have is some registered Republicans who were even Paul delegates at the State Convention, who also serve in the LP, with no conflict because the latter is not considered a political party legally.

We can fight multiple fronts. Don't put all your eggs into one basket.

(Five-star post)

I've been gone for a while, a little disheartened. But you put some fire back in my step :)

I'm glad I could help. Just paying forward that pro-liberty optimism that Ron Paul instilled in me a few years back. :)

Chris, someone said our delegates were texted by the RNc that they wouldn't be going forward MOnday, not that they would be trying to quickly nominate Romney and THEN recessing as Fox is reporting or 'briefly meeting and then recessing' as Priebus said to AP. I am betting it is like the state conventions all over, they will try to ram through the rules changes pretending not to hear objections figuring little media will be there because they said it would just be a quick pro forma meeting. I wonder if they will try to skip a state roll call with some states not voting for Romney.

I BET they are hoping our people will be hung over from Whisky Joes and not come (I'm sure that won't happen, but I bet they hope it will.)

Remember the occupy mic check may be obnoxious but it works, but you would have to coordinate with other delegations in advance. Otherwise the 'deaf chair' will be VERY hard to over come in a room that size, and you will need other states working with you anyhow to object to the rules.

You probably know all about this and maybe have better information than we do, but I just wanted to report what people are saying.

It's going to be a mess, because we really don't even know who Maine is going to have for a Delegation come that time. There's a lot of conflicting reports out there right now.

promoted ... and you will notice it did not crash the forums, I think you newb mods are doing it wrong

This movement is about pulling ourselves up by our boot straps, not meant for the weak. We are literally trying to change the course of an empire entrentched. No long faces!

To the OP: I've logged on to this forum for the first time in months for the sole purpose of giving you rep. This was one the best posts I have read all throughout the campaign season. Thanks for the encouragement and keeping hope alive.

Vive la Revolution

Thank you! :)

There is still much hope, sometimes it's just a difference between being an optimist and a pessimist. There is much to celebrate, even now. We got crushed by the RNC, but look how much they had to fight to take care of us. We're making things hard for the establishment as we advance liberty.

We will be victorious!

I had a high up GOP leader here pull me aside the other night after a replacement delegate nearly blew a blood vessel for people being upset with him. This individual told me that the old guard are all waiting until after the election for us to leave, they all expect it and they're merely laying low until they can come back in and retake their old positions. He pleaded with me not to leave and others to not as well. I heard the same thing at the State Convention as time went on and it became increasingly clear what the score was: we're only here for the man, once the man is gone, we will be, too.

Hear, hear! I heard that soooooo many times after the 2008 season it was almost embarrassing to be a known Paul supporter. People don't want to align with us, or even support us for chairs, because they think we're going to dry up and blow away after the presidential election is over. It has to be Ron Paul for the long haul.

Agreed. It's the only way it's going to ever change. Nobody's going to take us seriously if we show up for the battle and give up after one fight. War. This is war.

And no war was won over night.

(...let's just hope our war is won before Afghanistan is finally over...)
