How about Meetup Groups from every state/region putting together plans for chartered bus trips to the March?

Events/Activities/Speakers/Videos etc. could be planned for the trip.

Possibly it could even be worked into a fundraiser for the March...

Just throwing out ideas...

Yeehaw

I just changed my reservations from June 21. Cost me a few bucks, but I am not going to miss this! See y'all on July 12.

Thanks to Deborah and everyone else who helped organize this. You have done a fantastic job under difficult circumstances!

Spread the word!!!!!!

Great job ladies. Keep up the great work.

This definitely needs to be promoted big time. Youtube vids everywhere and everything else we have done in the past and more.

I'm thinking of renting a car and driving down from Philly. Can't wait!

I was sleeping on it last night. We need a thought-provoking theme that may make a great promotion.... I thought of something along with the line like

"Something big's gonna happen!"
"7-12-08"
"9-1-08"

Print that out on shirts, buttons or chain necklace with military tags, so that get people to become curious and ask us what those dates are about. Just an idea...

Wow! I love this!

newyearsrevolution08 We need to do a pledge with a donation to count people if possible. Hold people accountable instead of the ton who just say "yeah I will go" and really know they can't wont or are unable.

I don't know what could be done for that BUT I thought it would be cool, whether everyone buys a ticket or something just to make sure donations for this event are in abundance.

We need CASH and PEOPLE and MEDIA.

I love this idea. We're planning a money bomb. Maybe we can do both! People who can't make it can donate to the bomb and everyone else can pledge to march and buy a ticket?

I'd like more input from folks on this.

Here is a list of local camping areas...what if we collectively reserved complete campgrounds? I would be glad to help with finding lodging for folks..... there are alot of campgrounds close by that we could all stay at for relatively cheap and it would be so much fun to have us all together....

Gin great third post thank you!

That is a fantastic idea. Lets make it happen.

I would prefer to not have free wifi though. Don't want everyone to be on thier computer! I would prefer no electricity either, but i'll compromise on that one :)

i am happy to see the 'official' revolution match happening and hope it's gonna be big.

i always liked the meetup challenge webpage
http://www.ronpaulmeetupchallenge.com/

it's very well done and motivates in a competitive way to pledge...
unfortunately it was meant to work as a donation webpage and for that it was released a tad to late, at a time when money bombs were not that much of priority anymore.
well, i am sure we can use it after the national convention ;)

but i think it would be great to change the page (or duplicate it) to a

meetup challenge revolution march pledge page

100 000 meetup members in a competition to show up in DC at July 12th

so whoever is behind that webpage, what do you think?

yeah I kinda felt that way too, but whatever we have to do to get everyone there, we can try to do... there seems to be alot of choices and alot of activities to keep the kiddos happy and make an actual vacation out of the weekend...which is partly what I was aiming for...not to mention it's a really cheap way to go... most of the group sites are $5 a person and only $100 to reserve or the single campsites are between $25 and $50 a night depending on what amenities you want...... I think it makes it more affordable for most folks...they even have cabins for those who would want to fly in instead of drive....... so many possibilities......

I would hope to get some good speakers, and some celeb backing. Imagine what a single mention of this event would do on a late night talk show, or promoted on day time TV?
Promotion will be everything. Millions may show for a freedom march, but making it about RP, or "anyone" will force political loyalties, or devide the crowds.
Wonder what Mr. Bush would say to an invite to speak? lol

I'm not sure millions would show for a "freedom march." Millions watched the debates and saw the most logical, earnest, impassioned argument for the benefits of freedom since the founding fathers.

Anyone who can listen to Ron Paul speak and NOT become a supporter doesn't have a clue what freedom is, much less an inclination to march for it.

I don't think we should be afraid of mentioning Ron Paul.

Official Faq: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showpost.php?p=134530 ...

Q. Who is organizing this march?
A. www.revolutionmarch.com

Q. What is the theme of the March?
A. To spread Ron Paul's message of Peace, Prosperity, and Freedom. And to demonstrate that we expect our government officials to adhere to the Constitution.

Q. When is the date?
A. In order to secure a date, an application for a permit must be submitted to the D.C. parks and recreation division, permit department. The permits department received our application on February 18th. We submitted June 21st as our first choice but were advised to submit alternate dates. We have established a rapport with the dept.. They have indicated to us that they have over 900 applications for review. People have up to one year to secure a date and the summer months in D.C. are prime time for events. Trying to get a summer date a few months before an event takes longer to process because of the 'first come, first served' procedures. However, I was told that people who reserve a date, often times cancel. This tends to muddy up the waters a little bit, but it can be advantageous to late comers.

Q. Why do we even need a permit?
A. Good question! Freedom loving Americans like those in this movement understand that forcing us to get a permit violates the first amendment right to peaceably assemble. But try to view the permit as sort of like making reservations or buying a ticket to an event. If large groups of people just show up willy nilly, setting up their tents and stages, forgetting to rent porta pottys and trash cans, there would be mass chaos.

Q. What about all the other marches I'm hearing about?
A. There are several marches being planned by different groups. This is a very good thing because it accommodates everyone's schedules and budgets. And it sends the message to the local, state, and federal governments that our movement is massive, organized, and NOT going away!

Q. Where can we go to get up-to-date information?
A. In the next few days www.RevolutionMarch.com will be selecting a communications director. Once the decision has been made, the CD will be in charge of keeping the website updated with all the current news and information regarding the march. If you sign up, you will be notified via email on a regular basis of new information.

In addition, we will post the organizational chart which will show the various committees and sub-committees that are being formed out of the volunteers. In order to put on a massive march and rally in D.C., it is going to require 2-300 people handling promotion, march logistics, public relations, marketing, accounting, etc.

We are also posting a FAQs link on the site and we will do our best to answer any questions you have so please feel free to post your questions here and I will send them along. OR, you can send them directly to: [email protected]. PLEASE keep your questions, suggestions, etc. brief and to the point. Given the number of emails they get, to-the-point- emails are greatly appreciated.

Gin, what's the point of posting this faq when it's so out of date? We should get rid of all the tentative, dated material so people don't get confused. The march is on!

ummm....cuz I actually didn't realize it was outta date until too late....sorry....

Ok just saying, I haven't seen any buzz about this official date anywhere, not even in forums that usually inform all kinds of Ron Paul activity. I wouldn't even know this march is happening unless I came here.

Something should be done don't you think? Is Ron Paul himself going to speak about this?
