Is this a fair statement to use when trying to win over big oil whoring neocons?

I don't know if its necessary an issue of entitlement..believe me they WANT to sell it to us

I would guess no, because neocons don't like it when they're told America isn't entitled to something.

We can just buy it on the free market, like we do with everything else.

There, debate solved.

if you want to convert the oil hording neocons, dont talk about oil with them because you'll be fighting on their turf. instead talk about the dropping dollar, inflation, national debt, the interest we pay every year, and economics. these are issues they can't argue with.

I think you just described my mother in law. She won't support Ron Paul due to his anti-Iraq war stance. I asked her why and basically her argument came down to oil. I told her, at least you admit this war is, and always has been about oil.

if occupying Iraq has protected our oil sources, how come the price has skyrocketed ever since we've been there?

the whole argument about iraq being about oil is a red herring. unfortunately ron paul repeated it again on glen beck last night. i think ron paul says that to avoid accidently drifting into an area which would really stir up the media.

why is oil a red herring about iraq? the government has spent a trillion dollars on the war, do you know how much oil that would buy on the open market. last year the U.S. imported 3,693,081,000 barrels of oil, at $100 that would be 369 billion dollars. we could have paid for our oil imports over the war with the cost of the war. instead, we get to pay for the war, pay for the oil, and get the abolition of constitutional rights as a bonus.

the iraq war was not about weapons of mass destruction, not about terrorism, and not about war. open your mind to see who promoted it, years before george w was elected, and you'll be on the road to freedom.

Most big oil people in the US, wish we would still drill here. The only people youl have trouble converting is haliburton stock holders, like dick cheney. Trust me i know many old oil familys, and they are pissed that we jumped ship and started up and buying from the middleeast.
