We Actually WON

Giuliani didn't even try to compete in that state so it's not entirely a fair comparison.

yep. Ron Paul is not a Richardson or Biden, he is viable and the fight goes on.

perfectly respectable showing

I don't want him to be in the Fox round table discussion. we're getting more exposure by his snub than by his possible attendance. Not like they'd give him his fair share of time anyway...

Giuliani knew that he couldn't compete against the Evangelicals. Ron Paul knew that he wasn't going to popular too, but he gave it a good run and I think he did a damn good job for not having any real media support whatsoever.

Julieani didn't have the balls to compete in Iowa, whereas Ron Paul stood in the face of the Christianist and weathered the storm. Bring on New Hampshire!

Doesn't matter - him not being at the roundtable solidifies the image that there are a collection of viable frontrunners and he's not one of them, even though the IA results put him even with McCain and Thompson.

Okay, a lot of you need to chill. Our biggest battle wasn't about winning Iowa - but proving Ron is a viable candidate. Tonight he raked in twice as much votes as Giuliani, one of the guys who was invited to the FOX and ABC programs.

We won- because we proved Ron was a REAL candidate with REAL viability. He didn't make first place, but he did show he wasn't somebody to be ignored.

This means that he WILL be on those television programs, and if he isn't- they have some real explaining to do- especially after submitting a press release stating that they will decide after todays caucus.

You should all be proud about tonight! I know I am!

Completely agree.....we are only 3% away from third......they have NO excuse to ignore

To those who have started finger pointing or started losing hope - don't!
Kindly read this and hopefully if you agree with it - withdraw your posts.

Please don't blame Ron Paul supporters in IOWA.

Look at the OVERALL picture.

Democrats voted for Obama.
Hillary and Edwards were seen as 'the same old ruling elite' and lost.
People really want CHANGE badly enough that a 95% white State is willing to vote for a black guy.

They only find it hard to trust a Republican.

Romney was beaten by Huckabee. A strong evangelical Christian presence in Iowa wanted to make a statement against a Mormon candidate. This religious aspect will likely not play out the same as Iowa in the rest of the States.

Thompson and McCain were always given time on the air by the main stream media - unlike Dr. Paul. And yet Dr. Paul is close enough to those two (~3%)that it is a dead heat. Dr. Paul is clearly ahead of the supposed Republican frontrunner Giuliani What more if Dr. Paul was given equal air-time?.

Check your assumptions! Don't lash out blindly.

People REALLY, badly want change.

Ron Paul can still win this, but several MAJOR things have to be done.

The PRIMARY mistaken assumption is that 'the message is perfect' - it is not. Each message must be refined and clarified so that it doesn't scare people. It must be re-packaged far better next time - enough to convince Democrats to vote for Dr. Paul.

The way we handle the MSM is another major item we must deal with. And there are several ways that we can do this effectively.

Other things will have to be done as well, but I cannot cover them all here.

Don't lose hope my friends. Ron Paul is the only real hope for America.

Be resolute.

Seriously, double digit numbers, a top 5 finish, and in a state the candidate didn't really focus on.

Who's complaining?
