Lol
What possible satisfaction do people get from telling people who they should and shouldn't mourn?
Are you talking about the mass media telling people they should mourn this poor little girl? Or are you suggesting that I am telling people they should not? Not clear. But the mass media profits from manipulating people's emotions, including sadness. And politicians push their corrupt agenda by doing the same thing. If we are ever to be free it is ESSENTIAL that we see through this manipulation. And the fact that the mass media and political spin doctors can manipulate the nation into mourning one isolated person when every damned neighborhood in the country has at least one family that has lost a child tragically is, in my opinion, a clear demonstration that we are a million miles away, as a nation, from breaking the chains that bind us.
The emotional manipulation techniques that have focused the country on this one tragedy among millions are IDENTICAL to the emotional manipulation techniques that bring the nation to focus its hatred on the "enemies" the politicians and mass media choose for us. They can make you hate. They can make you love. They can make you fear. They can make you cry. And that is why you are a slave. Until people learn to not be driven by emotional manipulation, the world will continue to be the wretched mess it is today. Mind you, this is not at all saying that people should not feel emotions. Just the opposite. They should feel emotions so clearly that they cannot be manipulated.
Personally, I mourn for the entire human race all the time. This event and these vicitms are drops in an ocean of tears. The only exceptional tragedy in this case is the manipulation surrounding it. A manipulation that you embrace.
Like I said, nobody said life was fair.
I never said it was or wasn't.
For a myriad of reasons, the nation has decided they want to cry together over this particular untimely death.
Wrong. The "nation" didn't decide a damned thing. The same opinion makers and spin doctors that decide who we will bomb and who we will torture and who we will put in the White House decided that we would cry for these victims. So cry away. But don't kid yourself that there is any "reason" for it. You have been told to cry. That is the only reason.
Nobody is saying everybody have to cry with them, but yammering on with some "it's not fair these particular corpses get all this attention!" and "I'm intellectually superior and therefore I decree that they be branded as a bunch of stupid hypocrites" - you don't possibly see how that can make someone come off as an unlikeable, socially retarded prick?
I'm not a contestant in a popularity contest. Some people think I am heartless because I oppose corrupt, unsustainable government social programs. Some people think I am a pansy because I oppose the world empire. Some people think I am a degenerate becasue I oppose the war on drugs. Some people think I hate the arts because I oppose government subsidy. And on and on. And some people think I am "an unlikeable, socially retarded prick" because I expose the fact that they are emotionlly driven puppets on a string dancing to the tune of their masters. So dance away little puppet, if it makes you feel better. You really have no choice. Until you master your own emotions.
Or better yet - do those people simply not care if they come off as unlikeable, socially retarded pricks?
I'm guessing the latter.
I choose my battles carefully and keep my mouth shut about many things. But emotional manipulation of the human race is THE VERY CORE of what is destroying us. If you can't see how people are being manipulated to care about a tragedy that is far removed from their lives and at the same time ignore the equal tragedies around the corner, you will NEVER see the truth about why the world groans under the burden of endless war, brutality, and corruption.
