"Doctor Paul sounds almost apologetic to our enemies. He sounds much like the blame America first crowd."

WORST thing to happen to LP party. The guy is scumbag!!

If, and this if is a >00000000001% chance that Bob wins...I hope he doesn't pass away.

W.A.R. = Bush's 3rd term.

How on earth did Root get the LP VP nomination? After I heard what he said about Dr. Paul, I had steam coming out of my ears. :mad: Did the Libertarians not know his stand on the WOT and Dr. Paul, or what?

At the LP debate the night before the nomination, WAR apologized for being a supporter of the war, but I'm not sure I buy that.

Mary Ruwart had more votes on the, 4th ballot, I believe. Barr made a deal with Root. Endorse me when you're eliminated and I will endorse you for VP.

After this move I would never, ever vote Libertarian and in fact was considering joining the party this year, but they have truly lost their way and I cannot align myself with neo-cons dressed up as the voice of liberty and freedom. There are very good reasons Ron Paul has not allied himself with these people. Mary Ruwart was a great candidate IMHO and the party voted popularity over principle in a crass attempt to play the crooked game to further an agenda that becomes more and more oblique every time Barr or Root opens their mouths. Good Luck is all I have to say to them, and I do really mean it. :(

BARR, the sellout neocon we can't trust and WAR; the bastard I previously had a deep rooted hatred for.

Everyonek nows the LP candidate for presidency should of been Steven Kubby; but he was too damn busy campaigning for Ron Paul in California then to actually campaign for himself.

I'd vote for Steven Kubby; fuck every one on this forum would too. The LP alienated its base when perfectly good candidates with experience and a history of Libertarian Policies were perfectly viable as candidates.

During the campaign, Root was persuaded that the Iraq war was a mistake. He changed his position a few months prior to the LP convention. If he hadn't, he wouldn't have come in third for President, nor would he have been selected as the VP candidate.

Is his change in position sincere? Only time will tell. However, unless/until he demonstrates that it isn't, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and my support.

Barr led on ballots 1-2; Barr and Ruwart were tied on ballots 3-4, Ruwart led slightly (less than 10 votes as I recall) on the 5th ballot. Root was eliminated on the 5th ballot and endorsed Barr (just as previously eliminated candidates had endorsed Ruwart, Gravel, etc.).

FYI: Most Root supporters were never going to support Ruwart -- Barr would have won on the sixth ballot even if Root hadn't endorsed him.

I wouldn't vote for Kubby... He's a mediocre speaker and has failed to attend many Libertarian events because of his health. FFS, he has inoperable cancer. I was deeply saddened that Ruwart didn't run for VP...

How on earth is someone who's said in the past that child pornography should be legalized a "perfectly good candidate"? The press would bring that stuff up faster than Paul's newsletters....
