The car has an energy generator that extracts hydrogen from water that is poured into the car's tank. The generator then releases electrons that produce electric power to run the car. Genepax, the company that invented the technology, aims to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers to mass produce it.

SOUNDBITE: Kiyoshi Hirasawa, CEO, Genepax.

I would love to see independent tests.
I suspect that is uses a catalyst, in which case, the catalyst would need to be replaced.

From their claim they seem to be breaking the laws of physics.
I doubt the claim.

He will be murdered soon.

I don't think so this time. If that was to happen it would have already happened. Hydro cars are just around the corner, which in my opinion is why the carbon taxes are being pushed so hard by World Government. Somehow they will find a way for us to pay for the water we fill out tanks up with.

He said there is no outside power source.

This process is allegedly similar to the mechanism that produces hydrogen by a reaction of metal hydride and water. But compared with the existing method, the new process is expected to produce hydrogen from water for longer time, the company said.
Similar to metal hydride?
Whatever is doing it, it needs to be replenished. This is the outside power source.
It will take a lot of energy to produce this hydrogen generating material, whatever it is.
On top of that, it runs the hydrogen through a typical PEM fuel cell that uses a platinum catalyst.

I've got news for you.
This is may be the novelty car of the future, but it will not be powering any and all auto transportation.

The problem has always been storing hydrogen cheaply.
If they could store it in a solid, and do it with renewable energy like solar, it would be beneficial.
