Warren Buffett Challenges Trump to Show Tax Returns, Says He's 'Afraid'

Business magnate Warren Buffett took on Donald Trump over his refusal to release his tax returns -- issuing the real estate mogul a challenge to put his cards on the table.

Speaking at a Hillary Clinton rally in Omaha, Nebraska today, the multi-billionaire joked he would meet Trump "any place, any time between now and election" to go over each other's tax returns. The GOP nominee has claimed that he can't release his tax returns because he is being audited.

"Now I've got news for him, I'm under audit too," Buffett said. "There are no rules against showing your tax returns and just let people ask us questions about the items that are on there."

Buffett instead suggested that Trump is withholding his tax returns intentionally.

"You're only afraid if you've got something to be afraid about," he told to the crowd. "He's not afraid of the IRS. He's afraid because of you."

Buffett also challenged Trump on his claim that he's "made a lot of sacrifices."

"Donald Trump and I haven't sacrificed anything," Buffett said. "No member of the Buffett family has gone to Iraq or Afghanistan. No member of the Trump family has gone to Iraq or Afghanistan."

The second richest man in the country closed out his introduction of Clinton with an offer to voters. Stressing Nebraska’s importance come Nov. 8, Buffett said he is launching a website called drive2vote.org — where he has reserved a trolley to drive people to the polls.

"It seats 32. I'm going to be on it all day. I’m going to do selfies, whatever it takes." Buffett said. "My goal is to have the turnout here be the highest percentage of potential voters of any district in the country."

Clinton upped the ante on that goal, making a promise to return to the district if they have the highest percentage of voters.

"I will shortly after I become president, sometime as soon as I can arrange it, come back here and Warren and I will dance in the streets of Omaha together," she said. "And maybe if we’re really lucky he’ll wear his Elvis costume again."

IRS said there is no reason he can't release his taxes. He said in January he would release his "big, beautiful" returns "soon". He criticized Romney for not releasing his.

Trump must either be hiding how he moved money around to pay next to no taxes if any, or he's not worth the billions he claims.

Although his campaign website says he's worth "TEN BILLION" so what could he possibly be hiding.

(Yes, gotta love the caps)

"Donald Trump and I haven't sacrificed anything," Buffett said. "No member of the Buffett family has gone to Iraq or Afghanistan. No member of the Trump family has gone to Iraq or Afghanistan."

Now, most people would make the argument, "Can't you sacrifice by doing something besides die in Iraq or Afghanistan?"

However a conspiracy theory video I watched a while ago about the occult was talking about how the Iraq war started on some occult date the signified sacrificing. Apparently if something is killed at a specified time, and a specified place it is a sacrifice. Since the elite direct the wars, the argument was being made that wars are sacrifices that the elite are making to the Gods or whatever.

So maybe the only way you CAN make a true sacrifice is by dying in Iraq or Afghanistan. Just interesting to hear the words come out of Warren Buffet's mouth.

Yes, he is very afraid of releasing them.

He blamed Romney's loss on his releasing his tax returns. http://www.politicususa.com/2016/07/31/trump-admits-lose-election-releases-tax-returns.html He is afraid it could cost him the election too.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Is there something…

(CROSSTALK)

TRUMP: George, it is very simple. Yes, but they’re all linked. It’s called the link.

It’s very simple, if my audit is finished, that’s great.

Now, I have to tell you. I watched Mitt Romney four years ago. He waited until September to give them, just before the election. They made him look so bad, it was so unfair, I actually think he didn’t lose because of the 47 percent, I think he lost because of a couple of really minor items in tax return where he did nothing wrong. So it is unfair.

But I will say, when I’m finished with the audit, I’ll do it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Richard Nixon released his even though his were under audit.

TRUMP: I don’t use Richard Nixon as necessarily the guide, OK. I mean, you know, it’s an interesting person to use, but don’t use it.

The audit thing is his excuse but he has been under audit for years and again the IRS says that is not a valid reason to stop somebody from releasing their own income tax information. Every presidential candidate since 1976 has done it. But as Trump will remind you, he isn't "everybody".

Trump may very well be "hiding" something.

But Buffet ignores the fact that in this specific case, an army of left-wing tax experts would go through with a fine tooth comb in order to "help" the government find and prosecute any irregularities. But no worries, eh, Mr Buffet? The tax code is so simple that anyone could easily comply. One only has to worry about audits and government investigations if they are hiding something.

Trump has made an issue of transparency (when it is convenient for him to do so), yet refuses to be transparent himself.

Hillary supporters are obvious.

Don't hold her to the same standards. Knowing her shit is worse.

Come on, step up to the plate. We all know her shit is a lot worse as a government official than Trump as a private citizen.

But you all seem to know better.

But you never dwell on that, why? You think she is better than Trump? Come out and say it and why.

Look at all of these Clinton supporters comparing and equating Clinton to Ron Paul and trying to convince people to vote for Clinton.

He deserves a medal for this bold call.

BTW, did he make statement on election that SWC Hillary-DGP cabal stole from Sanders supporters or that is not worthy of his attention?
